My favourite game of the season today. It wasn’t pretty but after Going down to 10 so early always makes it difficult but I thought our organisation, determination and game management were fantastic and what an end I thought the thatchers roof was going to take off and I’ve almost lost my voice. We would have lost that 3-0 last season or earlier this season but we’ve got belief and momentum now. I think we’ll make top 7 UTG

Get In! Made especially sweeter as I took my daughter to the toilets behind the Centenary/East Stand just as Walsalls lot were making there way in. I smiled at some bells shaking the fence and one of the ***** spat on me. I just smiled some more thinking he had missed me. Daughter came out the toilet and said “Daddy, you got spit on your shoulder and your forehead!” Absolute belters! Can see the funny side now though. Pass the lateral flow test please! Aaron Collins is fast becoming a fave, great passion at the end showed by Barton and Anthony Evans. UTG!

Saw Finley outside the Thatchers end turnstiles, back next week apparently. Was his gear any good?

Awful game, but a massive 3 points. Well done Rovers! UTG. Yes, a game where, in the past, we probably would have conceded a late goal rather than scored one. Yep totally agree the worm seems to have turned, we are on our way with Captain J Barton at the helm all the way to Wembley. Mr Bent Garner can walk the plank.

bloody good, I'd hate to have a manager with no bloody passion like Garner, at least Joey has the passion Which decisions went against us? I thought the red card was right. Bit of naivety from hoole, and there bloke got booked for diving when a penalty would have been given but most refs. Also 22 fouls against walsall to our 8? True hoole can have no complaints, but its ironic he got his first booking for complaining about a tackle that should have got their player a Red card.

Good win that. We weren't at our best but the drive to win was there for all to see.
There's still a lot to come from this team, I can't help but feel we're a long way from the finished product with a lot more potential going forward.
If we can get it to click, we'd be unplayable at times.
Sutton (A), Oldham (A) and Mansfield (H) up next though. Three tough games which will be season defining IMO.

Hard fought and deserved win though maybe not the best spectacle, but I think the wind made it difficult to play any flowing football.

A valuable three points earned by this never-say-die Bristol Rovers team takes us to another season high position of 12th. In the top half of the table for the first time this season.
A very average performance against an average looking Walsall side, this game is easily forgotten but we got the result and that is all that counts.
A standout performance from Luke Thomas, who gave everything and showed some excellent moments of skill. Both Luke Thomas and Anthony Evans were the creative force this afternoon. The team as a whole dug in and got the result at the end. Very worrying to see James Belshaw limping at the end. I really hope he is ok because he is a critical player for us.
Aaron Collins is now our clear top scorer, with seven goals. He is becoming the player that we all hoped he would be when we signed him at the start of the season, and is developing a habit of scoring critical goals.
I was surprised to see Luca Hoole sent off. I did not realise he was already on a yellow card, and the challenge was worthy of a yellow card so I guess the referee had no choice but to send him off. I felt there should have been a lot more yellow cards in this game, as it was quite niggly at times. I was relieved to see the ref book the Walsall player for diving in the box. I will need to see that one again as I felt it could easily have been given as a penalty, which would have ruined our afternoon.
I felt we lacked composure on the ball today, and were not really much of an attacking threat. I was hoping for more following the performance against Scunthorpe on Tuesday evening. Still, I have no complaints at all. We got the job done whilst not playing well. That is a good sign for the remainder of the season.
Fantastic result which takes us within 6 points of the playoffs. Onwards and upwards.

Interesting how people see the same things differently…. I thought Hoole was really unlucky to be sent off… 1st booking I can’t see what he did wrong - after the foul he went up to the ref and was asking why it wasn’t a yellow and the 2nd - I was further away from as I was in the Poplar Stand but to me it looked like an ok tackle…possibly could see why a foul could be given but no way did I think it was a yellow…. There were plenty of fouls by Walsall that were similar or much worse that didn’t get yellows… there was one clear elbow on Coutts and we didn’t even get a free kick! I thought as a game we were generally always in control, even when down to 10 but we didn’t seem to create many clear opportunities …. Walsall were poor… you could see they were low on confidence as they made quite a few unforced errors… Still, whilst I may have had a wobble as we were reaching 80mins, I always knew we’d win with my 100% Win ratio daughter with me! 6 points off the play offs with games in hand on most teams around and above us…. It’s all getting interesting!

A mate of mine for no reason at all had a punch in his face and it looks like they had a key in their hand, looking at the hole just under his eye, have to be honest I did not think Walsall fans were thugs

Saw Finley outside the Thatchers end turnstiles, back next week apparently. That’s brilliant news. I really can’t underestimate how important his fitness is to us making top 7. We’re a different animal when he plays. True but thought Grant did well there until the ref and having to move. Predicated hed be the one to play centre mid and would be happy for him to be the cover if we can get some full backs.

Wankers. Hope your mates ok if the key had been a bit higher he could have been killed or at least lost an eye.

Scrappy game but this team really do play for the shirt, can't fault any of them for the effort and we got a deserved winner. Thought both the young centre backs were absolutely superb, Walsall's tactics seemed to be purely to punt the forward as high & long as possible and even against 10 they barely created a chance. Momentum is building 21 to go you never know

Hoole was unlucky. If the first is a yellow the. Expect 30-50 yellows per game in the prem from now on. If that’s possible. Hope it doesn’t knock his confidence. Connolly awesome today too. Obviously Taylor gets the plaudits but he did everything right pretty much.

You can’t generalise though. The kid that spat at me was about 16, if it wasn’t for that fence I would have … erm… still waited for my daughter and done nothing!
