Great signing, Joey has built a really good squad, giving the club a great chance to push up the table. Welcome Jon Nolan.

Wow! Wasn't expecting that. A Brucie Bonus. Would have liked Camps but I have to say Midfield is looking very strong now. Wouldn't be surprised if we don't move for Camps in the summer when he'll be available on a free. Reports suggest he wanted to come but Fleetwood weren't prepared to lose him after selling their other midfielder to Sunderland. Coutts Whelan Grant Finley Nolan Evans Anderson (Newcastle) Spence Not counting players that play mainly out wide - Nicholson, Thomas, Anderson (Lincoln), Rodman - it looks like we have 8 fighting for 3 spots. However, I guess Evans, Anderson (Newcastle), and Spence could play wide in an attacking three. Grants now seen as full back and Spence is a wide player so it's 6 fighting for 3 spots, unless JB also sees E Anderson as a wide player to replace Nicholson/wake him up given he's been fairly average lately. We now seem to have two players fighting for every position in the side, not too long ago we had a bench full of kids! Spence isn't a wide player. Anderson is more of a 10 who can also play wide, so likely to be competing with Evans and/or one of the wide players for a place.

Class signing that, was bossing the midfield for league one playoff finalists Shrewsbury a few seasons ago. Knows Brown and Rodman from his time there so should settle in. Welcome Jon! Was quality for Shrewsbury and did a good job for Ipswich. Always impressed me in the past. Welcome to the Gas Jon!

I think we'll find out in the next couple of weeks if we can get excited or if we have to wait until next year.

I think this is a very good signing.
If Grant is going to play out the season as LB then we were a transition player short. Especially with Tuesday Saturday demands coming up.
Happy Gashead.

Yet another midfielder - I’m not sure how JB is going to keep this squad happy To be fair although we had whelan , grant , coutts they are all ball winning midfielders which leaves Finley as our sole playmaker who has missed games this season. Evans can play midfield but is better further forward in the number 10 role. If we’ve had the room and money to make signings this window then a midfield playmaker or two was a good place to start along with a center half - connelly who I thought was very good on Saturday. Shaping up nicely . UTG

I get the feeling this is a signing with one eye on next season. Gives him 8 months to get himself in top shape, and i cant imagine Wheelan, and possibly Coutts will be here next season. Could be a midfield 3 of Nolan Finley and Evans

We’ve been at our best this season when we pack midfield with the quality players we’ve got in those position so all good to have strength in depth. I’m so glad we’ve moved away from the wing backs formations that cost us half a season of dragging our heals. With 4-2-3-1 you need 5 good midfielders for every game to win every game so if we’ve got loads in the squad everyone of them will get game time with games coming up sat - Tues consistently for the rest of the season.

Good signing on paper but he has not played for more than a year after a bad knee injury. It's a gamble but i hope we get lucky because he is a very good player when fit.

Could be a midfield 3 of Nolan Finley and Evans definitely and I reckon camps will also sign for us in the summer.there certainly is not any room for passengers in this squad anymore.

Great signing welcome Jon, let's hope he stays injury free, scouse army assembling, camps probably after the season has ended and out of contract.
