Holloway and Stewart from my early days. Lambert and Agogo both good. Is my memory going on Jeff Hughes. Was he really good or really bad that I remember him?

Hughes was a decent player, technically gifted and scored a lot of cracking goals for us, but always seemed to be a bit lethargic if I remember rightly? Could've gone onto bigger and better things if he'd applied himself. I seem to remember him taking pens but I don't remember any single one in particular?

Funny story about the lee brown pen in that shootout. He was actually going for the opposite corner but he completely mis-hit it! That’s what it looked like but I assumed he was doing that on purpose to fool the GK. Do you know this from LB? Is that what he said? Yeah from the man himself.

Leicester home I think ,Mark Bunn saved it I reckon towards at Thatcher’s end. ? This is correct I remember it well, the ball got stuck between his legs right on the line so a bit jammy for the goalie! A certain Mr Evans seems to be slotting them away quite nicely at the moment too, I hope I haven’t put the mockers in him now though 😱. Billy Bob took some nice pens too, but Lambo was the king for me and he also had an incredible record for the Saints. Edit: I’ve just looked it up , he scored 34 out of 34 for the Saints :gulp!: Then he missed his first pen for Liverpool in a friendly against Milan, what a waster!😂. My god when we got that pen today I immediately thought of this post early this morning, thank f**k he scored Mr Evans ud da man! Up the gas 👍.

Did David Williams take penalties for Rovers? Think he did later in his career with Norwich City.

Peter Hooper used to break the net. Hardest shot I've ever seen. Heavy leather footballs in those days! Dave Stone, always sent the keeper the wrong way.

Dave Stone would have talked the keeper into going the wrong way. The weight of the ball is an urban myth as the weight of the ball is the same today as it was then although when wet it was a completely different matter.
