The Barton affect ain't it? Say what you like, if people don't like it they're snowflakes or the woke brigade. I'm not completely sold on Barton myself, but I have you down as a virtue signaller, maybe it's just me but you only seem to pop up to preach your piety and denigrate other Bristol Rovers supporters. If by "virtue signaller" you mean me pulling people up on misogynistic comments then yes, by all means. You're right I don't post that often anymore, I find it so hard to enjoy Rovers with this "man" in charge. I'm not sure whether I should be flattered or not by your attention to my opinions.

Nobody I know who supports the gas is anti JB, quite the reverse ! 💙 UTG I know loads who can't stand him, myself included. I find it weird how much people are prepared to overlook just because we've won a few lately 🙄 Well , that doesn’t include me from day one I’ve wanted to give him a chance. A lot needed changing within the club, fingers crossed we are moving in the right direction, it was always going to take time ! UTG 💙

Hard for forget the bad-mouthing and terrible performances of last season where he gave-up on the chance of staying-up when he arrived. Yep,things have improved since Christmas and there is a reasonable chance of a play-off spot and even promotion. No miracle worker but performances now reflect the budget which is all you can ask from a manager. Still find him a pain to listen to and would still be happier without him at the club but realise that view is very much in the minority now and will be even more so if the wife-beating case collapses next month. The "bad-mouthing" was JB telling the truth about the state the club was in, and what had gone on before. The club finally got the big shake-up which it has needed for a long time - shame that it took somebody to be brutal with the truth in order for it to happen. Well said Tills - spot on ! 💙 UTG

UTG 💙 Absolutely, we were in a right mess after tearing up another plan - which seemed odd after investing in it to such an extent. I was only pointing out by replying that it's the circles we move in. Yours seem to be more focused on the football side, whereas mine can't see past the person. As you say, we're all Gas ain't we.

A bit like never watching another movie produced by Weinstein’s Miramax!
A genuine shame for any stay aways because this current cast is absolute box office!

I said a few months back that I'd give him until December by when I wanted to see results and performance improve, top 10 in the league, interviews coming across more conciliatory and the two court cases resolved.
It's taken a bit longer (and one case still pending) but he's got there.

One post only. Registered two hours ago. Very Odd first post. Have you been waiting this long to make this point. Unlikely fan of Rovers. Clearly a Ted with nothing better to do. You need to do better than this to fool this forum. Gotcha my friend. Look forward to seeing your next few posts, as you get with the new positive programme of success that we are now witnessing. So you’re reaction to a post that doesn’t suit you is to accuse me of being a ted , I’ve supported rovers since I was a kid , I’m now 60 , I live in Lincolnshire ( Grantham ) , I left Bristol 30 yrs ago , the easy thing to do would be to go and watch forest / notts county 30 miles down the a52 but no I’ve carried on following my team as much as I can , home is a 300 round trip , so even though I’ve spent the best part of 60 yrs supporting this club I’m not a fan because I’ve a different opinion on the manager to you Don't worry about it mate, unless you buy into his rather peculiar mindset it's the kind of response you get. Welcome to gaschat, most of us are normal, but there are some deluded egotists on here. I'm in N Yorkshire by the way so if you fancy a game sometime in the south I can always pick you up on the way down if I'm going.

This is what he does, attempts to silence debate. He did it before and reflected on it but here we are again. I agree with your points. Only when back in league 1 will I consider his tenure as neutral. Pay no mind to Hertford nobody takes him seriously. Except himself 🤣🤣, spot on by the way

That's the way I look at it as well, we've been talking about clearing things out for years, I honestly think it's finally happening, some of the football we've seen over the last few weeks has been the best I can remember since probably Ollie's reign. We were a good team under DC but we relied too much on Taylor, same with Lambert under Trollope and JCH under Coughlan, now we actually look like a team capable of out playing other teams.

The club was a mess and this man along with the owner and tremendous staff the club now have are not only giving us our rovers back there giving us a bloody good exciting team to watch. Long may it continue.

I have done. I didn't renew my ST, and tonight was the first game I've watched in ages. Thanks for the tip 👍🏼 It's a shame that you haven't been watching lately, however, I understand that people have their own reasons. Glad that you got to see a decent performance by the team wearing the quarters.

Dumb woman gives up Rovers and then puts it on internet. "Dumb woman"? :-| We don't know the reasons why she feels that she cannot go to Rovers games while Joey Barton is in charge - but I know several others who are boycotting because of his long history of violent conduct. If he is found guilty of domestic abuse and somehow not sacked then I would expect there to be many more too. Then again there will also be some who would celebrate him not being sacked in these circumstances. They would gloat about it on social media - calling out people boycotting as "dumb" and starting threads about him on forums every day in an attempt to antagonise the "haters".Who does that? Boycotting something you've grown up with, enjoy, all because of someone's past? Sounds pretty dumb to me. I've got friends who've been involved in fights, lots of fights, I don't stop hanging out with them.

Dont need to go over my feelings about Barton again, but I have been going to games, but struggle to get enthused and/or excited because of Barton and the cloud hanging over him. Some would say its pretty dumb to go if i am not enjoying it, so easy to understand and respect anyone who feels they cant attend. As for JBs year in charge 5/10 seems fair. Seems to be turning the team into something as he should given the players he has brought in

I'm absolutely loving it, I used to pick and choose the odd game here and there, maybe 3 times a season since DC left but I am now going to every home game and a few away, so maybe a few don't go anymore but a few like me have come back. I feel this is the best team since the Holloway days, every player seems to want to play well for JB, if he was to go we would be sh** again. Certain people should think about that, despite where we are in the table I honestly think we are the best team in the league now all the players are back and fit

The first year was bad to start with; the players were a bunch of quitters and did not deserve to wear the shirt.
We had to have a root and branch cull to get rid; now the spring is here and we can see for ourselves the green shoots.
I honestly think that in 12 months time - After Year 2 - We will be pushing the playoffs in League 1 thinking about the championship in season 23/24
I will stake me pitchfork on that prediction

Aslong as the Mem and Wael still backs him that's all what matters not the odd few on Gaschat.
