Thought I would give this a go guys. I sense most people were ok with result yesterday as Exeter are a good side and should have won it in the closing minutes. I guess with our run though everyone was hoping for a win to continue the momentum as we close in on the top 7 so there was a tinge of disappointment last night. With the top 3 all having a wobble it would have been brilliant to take max points. The sh** losing would have capped it.
So we look forward to Tuesday to get that momentum going again before going to face Newport and Don Telford on Saturday in another 6 pointer. Rovers played at Barrow on the 28/8 which was their 6th game of the season. Their skipper Ellis was sent off at 31mins and Sam Nicholson then scored on the 44th minute. Disappointingly Banks then equalised for Barrow in the 1st half injury time to make the score 1-1 at half time. Sadly the Gas couldn’t take advantage of their extra man advantage and the score stayed the same.
I think JB will freshen the side Tuesday and believe will go out with a very attacking line up to get that win and help improve the goal difference It’s a 3-0 win for me so over to you Gasheads - what do you think?

We stayed in Manchester for the weekend on the original fixture. You know Barrow is another world when the train even from Manc land went on forever!
Was a scorcher of a day, a skin full was had & insanely frustrating we didn’t take advantage of being a goal and a man up!
Expecting a 3-0 win & 35 away fans.

Their Manager Mark Cooper has just received an eight game touchline ban for his abuse of a female linesperson. He will therefore not be in the dugout on Tuesday.

Gonna be tough to break them down (look at their results) so the fans will need to be patient. A must win really, ahead of the big one against Newport. Agree, need to freshen it up but still keep some momentum. JB earns his wage with weeks like this one! Rovers 1-0 Barrow (Taylor 83)

Would like to see us rotate the squad to keep everyone playing and not have too much fatigue, relentless with two games a week.
Get Luke Thomas starting, rest Nicho for Saturday, play coutts first half whelan second.
Play Azzer first half Leon Clarke second, introduce Nolan and hopefully have Anderton back.
Hopeful we can win both this week, not going to be easy but we have to high press these teams and use our quality to create chances, got a good feeling, the Gas are coming!

Must approach game with the same determination as Exeter, i think Exeter was a case of Mmmm a points ok but tinged with a little regret that we could not get 3, think Exeter felt the same, the very low key matchday thread confirms that' it's OK but if only....'. Barrow very different mindset and expectations are high and if the players show the right attitude we will win, BUT any complacency shown by the squad and they will be swiftly brought down to earth, so come on JB and squad no messing please, up and at em from the off and keep the dream alive!

I'd rest Finley, or at least just have on the bench in case we need him toward the end. Can't risk him picking up his 10th yellow in this game, he is needed for Newport

A few thoughts regarding Barrow and their record.
1. Despite being in a lowly league position they have managed some important AWAY wins.
Tuesday 1st February: NORTHAMPTON TOWN 0 v 1 BARROW
Saturday 15th January: COLCHESTER UNITED 0 v 2 BARROW
Saturday 2nd October: MANSFIELD TOWN 0 v 1 BARROW
Saturday 4th September: OLDHAM ATHLETIC 0 v 3 BARROW
On the other hand, they have failed to score in 11 of their 32 league fixtures.
Bristol Rovers have scored in 28 of their 32 league matches.
2. Barrow are also a tough and uncompromising outfit with a League Two highest of 82 YELLOW cards to date.
In the same number of games The Gas have had a total of 62 YELLOW cards.
3. Dangerman Ollie Banks, at 1.91m, has scored 11 goals this season and has 14 Yellow cards.
If he is neutralised the Bluebirds/Ziggers are not as effective.
4. Mark Cooper, Barrow gaffer and son of Terry, is in the middle of an eight game touchline ban.
He is due to attend a face-to-face education course for breaching FA rule E3.
5. Last time we met at The Mem was on December 4th 2016 in an FA Cup match.
Byron Harrison scored in the 16th and 61st minutes to give the underdogs a 2-1 victory.

Rochdale once survived their umpteenth re election due to Barrow also surprisingly being in the bottom four and losing out as no-one wanted to go to their far off outpost on a wet tuesday night.Bournemouth for example is over 340 miles each way!!!!!

If Collins is going to be rested surely Loft has to start, them he can be replaced by Clarke later in the second half. Finley makes us tick in midfield, not sure we can risk resting him as picking up 3 pts tomorrow is probably far easier than you it will he getting them on Saturday, where a four 0-0 draw would probably be good enough, or snatching a 1-0 win.

Not mocking them at all, but I’m genuinely intrigued, could tomorrow night see the lowest away attendance we’ve ever had for a league fixture? I remember a 58 in the last couple of years (never remember which club it was), for a midweek game, but this could easily beat it.
Barrow to Bristol on a Tuesday night, hardcore!

It’s a long way so good for them that make the journey. Perhaps they’ll be some London-based fans taking the opportunity. Those that make the journey deserve respect. Makes my 190 round trip seem like a walk to the shops! UTG!

I remember going to Darlington on a Tuesday night a long time ago. Think we lost 1-0 to a goal at the death ! 😂

After missing Saturday, I've sorted my "work day" and will be back in bristol for a few hours for this one. Of course heavy rain is predicted - swear bristol wasnt always this wet when I lived there?! Any way - a win needed to keep me awake and happy on the journey home.
