My dad is a compulsive gambler, but he’s not a big gambler. Ie he has his game every day but I’ve never seen him put more than £20 on a bet. I can take or leave gambling but I think gambling companies are vultures who prey on the vulnerable. Sadly my dads issue is the opposite to yours. He had a big win when he was 18, like the equivalent of £20k today. He openly said it changes his attitude to work and money and kind of chased rainbows every since, so it’s not just losing which affects gamblers negatively, it’s winning too. I don’t gamble but I do invest on the stock markets. Which is a form of gambling I suppose the only difference is you can wait out and try and get a return if you lose something and the money you put in always has some sort of value rather than a neat loss on a bet and you never see it again. I’ve gambled in the past but never won anything big, however I do have a very healthy investment portfolio, not all winners but mostly and the losers will come back over time. Stock Market for me too. Wish I hadn't at the moment!

back on the subject of Telford - contract up at the end of the Season, assume you'd all love to have him with us next season?

I wouldn't touch him either but looks like he's held in high regard for scoring all those goals this season

That’s how I learn a living and it most certainly is NOT gambling! Your capital is put to work to create profits. While there is no certainty (as life is random and therefore profits aren’t guaranteed), it’s not the same as a blind coin toss. Most stocks are a winner at some point. Diversification is key 👍

If we go up it will be a large step and that will need to be reflected in the recruitment in the summer. Esp with so many players coming to the end of their contracts. We’ll be shopping from a different list if we stay put. UTG!

I invest also but i leave that to my financial advisor and he knows me very well. I do see the similarities but at least i have a buffer in him. I , very much, see that as my pension, should i get to a pensionable age

You have a Financial Advisor? Yes. Must be nice to be able to afford that after a few years ago thanking forumers for their money.

Probably advertising the fact you can now afford an investment adviser wasn't the cleverest move in the book!

Anyway, you can make your own mind up as my conscience is clear and I will always be grateful to those that helped me get the medication that keeps me alive. I will leave it at that.
