Must say I thought last nights attendance was very poor, we are playing good football and on a good run of results, I don't know what more they can do, I was expecting at least 7000/7500 UTG !

Was about what I thought seeing no away fans to count really. Cold, wet, 3 days after another game and on iFollow. Wonder how many passes we sold

Thought it was pretty good myself, Tuesday nights never easy for those with work commitments, young children etc…the weather was abysmal, unattractive opposition for your casual supporter, very very low away crowd.
6,500 Gas a decent effort for my money.

Sat at home in a group paying a tenner will not help clubs in the bottom two divisions.should be stopped unless we get close to a sell out

Midweek games can be tough for many due to work commitments. I for one rarely make Tuesday night games due to travelling up from Bridgwater and not finishing work till 6-6.30. Also you find there are not many kids/families as there is on a Saturday and Barrow bought a handful.

Away support almost non existent and dreadful stadium in bad weather on a cold Tuesday night isn't as enticing as it could be.Still, results is the main incentive so reckon things will get better on the run in if we are still in with a shout. The failure to make basic improvements to the Mem won't attract youngsters but the atmosphere for the Exeter game shows the appetite is potentially still there. Our disabled and toilet facilities barely comply with minimum requirements but people will overlook all this if we continue winning.

I thought it was pretty good considering, but we must remember live football on tv will always have an effect, more so on the lower leagues.
To sit at home in the warm with food/drink of your choice and watch your favourite team with no travel costs , no traffic issues, no late night and have to get up early - for just £10! (normally: £22 ticket, pasty, drink, travel etc minimum £20) ….. come on, let’s not kid ourselves , before long thousands will choose it.
Yet again in my humble opinion - media companies are the winner, and football clubs like ours will lose out 🙁

iFollow and VPN are a long-term concern for BRFC.

Many others are in the same boat due To not living in Bristol or finishing work early enough. Surely getting something is better than getting nothing as many would have just tuned in to the radio which is free or just watched the scores on the tv/phone.

iFollow and VPN are a long-term concern for BRFC. cant be right you can have a dozen people in one place watching the match at home for ten quid. Different if the seat at the ground is always occupied. Exeter yes when it hit capacity but not barrow when the ground is half empty

Find it strange why home fans can buy ifollow passes for midweek games as it must have an impact on attendances. I know the club sometimes tweet the number of passes bought for away games with approx 1800 purchased for Scunthorpe away being the highest this season, but it would be interesting how many are bought for home games. Also find it odd that on the day of the Barrow match the club have a headline advertisement on its social media sites plugging purchasing iFollow passes rather trying to encourage fans to attend the game.

iFollow and VPN are a long-term concern for BRFC. Not nearly as much as the facilities and surrounding infrastucture of The Mem.

Well at least the home side get a % of the fee. I am a season ticket holder and living 30 + miles away from Bristol I rely on I follow for midweek games. If they band us from getting a home ticket I would just purchase through the website of the club we are playing. There is no way I can get a bus back to Temple Meads for the last train home.

In your case the club are actually making more money from you because of iFollow. They get money from me each season which they wouldn't get if iFollow didn't exist. Are there really thousands of fans who prefer to sit at home and pay for iFollow rather than go to the Mem and pay for a ticket? A few hundred maybe, but not thousands. If Barrow had brought as many fans as Exeter did on the weekend, the attendance would have been close to 8,000. So we were a couple of thousand down in terms of home fans compared to the weekend. I don't think that's too bad.

My point is that we are creatures of habit and once we get used to the comfort of watching in our our homes many will decide Saturdays weather isn’t great, watch at home etc…and so it begins. The companies behind do not want a few hundred to buy passes they want thousands. Just my thoughts, I can see it damaging clubs like ours long term.

I'm a season ticket holder so obviously attended the game on Tuesday. I must admit that if I was paying on the day I would seriously have considered IFollow due to the dreadful weather that night and the opposition not being very attractive. I was surprised to see it advertised on BRFC social media though!

I have a season ticket for me and the kids but living so far away makes attending on a work/school night impossible (and the occasional Saturday). So for me, it’s either iFollow for some matches (and the club gets some money) or just getting my updates from here (and no money for the club). So, although I do have some concerns about the impact of iFollow it’s not a clear cut argument of it being either good or bad.

It would be interesting to know that if it weren't for Covid, would iFollow still only be doing what it was originally set up for back in 2017? Providing coverage for fans overseas. I cannot remember if weeknight games were shown prior to 2020?

I went Saturday with my boy, who drove up from Portsmouth. Didn't go Tuesday, just need to watch the pennies a bit at the moment, need to buy heating oil this month, with minimum amount costing around £500 but with my normal order around a £1000!!! So it was ifollow and a beer at home for me in Woolavington and ifollow for my boy on base in Portsmouth. Just think home games close together are difficult to budget at the moment.
