no its a narrow 1 nil win, I personally class a beating around the 4 nill.mark It could of been 3 or 4 if it wasn't for Belshaw. Which is the point I made. seriously 'could have been' their keeper made some very good saves aswell,

4 of our next 5 games are against lower half teams in Crawley, Harrogate. Colchester & Carlisle With Northampton our other opponents we realistically need minimum of 10 points if our play off push is to continue. Still hopeful, bad day at the office today, yet the stats show we had 55% possession, more shots etc but it didn't feel that sort of performance. Onward and upward UTG

Only played with tempo last 10 minutes, if we started with that team and played like that from the start we would of won comfortably. Evans well off the pace today, Nolan looked quality when he came on. Hoole looks such a good player, excellent again. Loft definitely caused them some problems, I thought he did OK? We lost it in midfield, not enough bite and slow until finley and Nolan came on. As for Newport, not very good, very limited side which made it even more frustrating that we lost!

They were just so organised and so tenacious off the ball. Couldn’t get any space to do anything. They are a good team, but horrible time wasters and game managers. There was about a 20 minute spell where every time we got in their half they had a player down. I swear for 10 straight minutes it was their players needing treatment. That said, we didn’t deserve much from that game. Apart from being very “dark arts” they were worth 3 points. Pretty certain we do the same, it's totally ruining the game at this level.

We beat Sutton not long ago, we also drew with Exeter and Mansfield recently. It's not like we are being battered by the teams. How many of the top 10 teams have we beaten away from home, or even given them a good game? Whilst we weren't battered today apart from Hoole's header plus Loft's(?) chance we never really looked like scoring, at the other end Belly made 3 decent saves and they also hit the post, unless, that was offside? Although losing Taylor could be an even bigger loss than the result if he now needs any time off to rest. Nicholson missed the best chance of the game, when one on one with the keeper when it was 0 0. Collins missed from 8 yards, when it was 0 0. Anderson forced the keeper into a save, when it was 0 0. Did you watch the game before we scored?? Or can you only remember the 2nd half? Not a good performance, but we lost to Oldham and then bounced back, we were never going to win every game. A few players seemed off the pace today. Maybe the run of games, has caught up with them. Thought we tired against Exeter as well and got worse as the game went on. Think that's why Joey changed a few of the players after that.

Could have got a point, they hardly battered us and we’re going to lose the odd game in the run in. Not sure why Finley and Coutts didn’t start after being rested. Understand gamesmanship and game management but don’t like the way players seem to be abusing the head injury rule by going down knowing that the ref will stop play if they clutch their head. Goalkeepers also seem to be feigning injury more to waste time knowing they don’t have to leave the pitch to receive treatment. Oh well, three points on Tuesday even more important now.

We were terrible today. Put us down a peg or two It’s a good job we’ve got plenty of pegs left then! Did you watch the game today? Nothing in it and great save from their goalie at the end to deny Hoole. FFS give it rest we’ve lost 2 out out of the last 14, bad day yes disaster NO! Faithful & true remember? Beating lol! Stop being such a 🛎end. UTG! Yes I did watch the game. We were very poor today, it's an honest assessment. Christ. We're they beating us? Yes. Did they beat us? Yes. Hence it was a beating.

They only had 3 shots in target to our 5😂. Newports keeper made some good saves as well and Nicholson missed a sitter. So you could say, we could have got a point, if we took our chances. Think 1 0 was just about a fair result. Don't get, how you think it should have been more. Do only our keepers saves count???

That goes in it's a completely different game. I will say again about our free kicks in attacking areas, we did it again today, about 10 mins to go we had the ball out wide in a attacking area, we should be filling the penalty area with bodies and crossing it in...what do we do, we waste it again by playing it short and square and in the end we have to go back to our keeper. It's happening a lot and it needs changing, as does the bringing every body back to defend from corners, completely wrong and just poor tactics, if you leave two players up and especially in wide positions the defending team have to keep at least three back to mark.

Sneaked away and managed to get on the 5:14 train back to Bristol. No complaints, Newport were far better than us today. I texted my wife when Loft came on saying "I might leave now". And then bringing Nolan on for his first taste in such a big game didn't really do it for me. C'est la vie Rodney! Had a nice few beers in Cardiff beforehand so overall a decent day out. Onwards to Crawley and an overnighter for me in the town of my birth. UTG!

Not the best performance today but not the worst either. Noticed the sunlight at the ground was not good (for anyone) . Poorly positioned pitch/ stands it seems. Overall...Newport are not very good , bit of a bullyboy team who wont stay up should they get promoted. Did a good job on smothering Evans and digging away at Taylor. Usual ,time wasting and throwing themselves to the ground. ( a bit sad for a team at home hoping for promotion).
Was hoping Coutts was to come on as he plays well with Finley. Nolan did ok though for a debut. Thought E Anderson was a bit lethargic today compared to previous games.
Not sure whats happened to Nicholsons shooting, he was good in league one....?
On to the next game. Can only afford one or two more slip ups before the season fizzles away. Victory midweek is a must now.

We didnt deserve anything out of the game. Newport were the better team all over the park imo. Don't know why people are getting so wound up over an honest assessment and the word 'Beating'.

We looked tired today, really struggled to get going. But still we are holding our own against the top side and are at least battling.
Can't win them all, we can afford to drop some points.
Big response on Tuesday night hopefully.
