They were just so organised and so tenacious off the ball. Couldn’t get any space to do anything. They are a good team, but horrible time wasters and game managers. There was about a 20 minute spell where every time we got in their half they had a player down. I swear for 10 straight minutes it was their players needing treatment. That said, we didn’t deserve much from that game. Apart from being very “dark arts” they were worth 3 points. Pretty certain we do the same, it's totally ruining the game at this level. Our players are splendid fellows, committed to sportsmanship and fair play. Other teams players are snarling, nasty SOBs cheating and embezzling and mugging old ladies.

I thought they harassed us well and didn't give us much time or space. My god GGMI have a look in the mirror, that’s exactly what you do to the whole of this forum!

Well, I’ll have a go this week. Think this will be a high scoring game and I’m going 3-2 to us. Evans and Collins getting the goals. You bloody Jonah! 😭

I thought they harassed us well and didn't give us much time or space. Which is a typical Newport performance? We couldn't seem to compete with it until Finley and Nolan came on, but as usual without Clarke in the side most teams seem to cope easily with shutting Collins and Loft out, meaning our best chances in the closing stages were a long range effort from Nicholson and the Hoole header.

4?? They only had 3 shots in target to our 5😂. Newports keeper made some good saves as well and Nicholson missed a sitter. So you could say, we could have got a point, if we took our chances. Think 1 0 was just about a fair result. Don't get, how you think it should have been more. Do only our keepers saves count??? Christ. Why are people having a hissy fit? We were poor today. Can anybody deny that? I made the comment about Belshaw keeping us in it, 10 minutes before Luca Hooles header right at the end. We didnt deserve anything out of the game. Newport were the better team all over the park imo. Don't know why people are getting so wound up over an honest assessment and the word 'Beating'. You said it could have been four, if it wasn't for Belshaw. When they only had 3 shots in target, I find that quite funny. Didn't say we played well, but it was a lot closer game, than you were suggesting. Both teams had good spells and bad spells. Both teams missed chances, both keepers made good saves. 15 shots each, we had more possession, they had more corners. Can't argue with the result. But it was far from a one sided game.

Can’t comment on the match as I didn’t see or listen to it. Just got in and seen all the comments. Surprised that we didn’t start with Coutts and Finley in midfield to allow Evans to play a more advanced role where he excels. It was after all a very important match, not a six pointer but the fact that we lost turned it into one. Long way to go yet and the play offs still well within reach. So long as we recover from the loss like we did after we lost against Oldham it’s a setback only not a season ending loss. A win against Crawley will keep the momentum going.
UTG!

We looked tired today, really struggled to get going. But still we are holding our own against the top side and are at least battling. Can't win them all, we can afford to drop some points. Big response on Tuesday night hopefully. Utg Not sure we're holding our own as, like PV, we can't seem to break the gap and make into the top 7, having said that 4 of our next 5 games all look winnable.

Haven't seen the game so can only go on match thread which indicates we were poor yet match stats show we have 5 shots on target to their 2. Not sure how accurate that is Not very accurate from what I saw on my TV.

It’s a good job we’ve got plenty of pegs left then! Did you watch the game today? Nothing in it and great save from their goalie at the end to deny Hoole. FFS give it rest we’ve lost 2 out out of the last 14, bad day yes disaster NO! Faithful & true remember? Beating lol! Stop being such a 🛎end. UTG! Yes I did watch the game. We were very poor today, it's an honest assessment. Christ. We're they beating us? Yes. Did they beat us? Yes. Hence it was a beating. 👀

It's tough to lose a 6 pointer but let's not overreact, we weren't great but we weren't awful and we're still in with a decent shout of a top 7 finish.
First half very little happened to be honest. We had the only clear-cut chance when Nicholson was clean through but lifted the ball over the bar. Their goal from 20+ yards was their only shot on target. Possession was 50/50. Both teams had 5 efforts on goal.
We started slowly in the second half and could have conceded again in the first 10 minutes with Belshaw making one superb save. Newport continued to look a threat on the break but we grew into the half and ended strongly with more possession and more attempts on target. We probably didn't quite deserve a point but nearly grabbed one with Hoole's header at the end.
Loft was disappointing again and Evan's had a bad day at the office but there are still 36 points to play for and only a 4 point gap to close. We'll need to play better but it's certainly not time to throw in the towel yet.

Pretty certain Belshaw made more than 2 decent saves, did you actually watch the game on iFollow? It wasn't one sided but Newport were the better side and deserved the win, compared to recent performances we were poor.

The big question is whether we can play better against the top sides away from home, as apart from the second half v Swindon we haven't been able to do so all season. The other other worry is Taylor's now missing for a few games.

If it was not for him making four good saves and the two that hit the post, it would have been a hiding. Incidently I did watch the game on ifollow and your right it was not one sided but the better team won.

disappointing result ,haven't said that for a while! sounds like Newport were really up for it and knocked us out of our stride, there were always going to be the odd set back on the run in, there will be lots of twists and turns over the course of the next few weeks. Got to make sure we put this one behind us and not let it undo all the good work we have done to get up there. just have to regroup and put another long unbeaten run together starting with Crawley, we can still do this!

Not listened to it yet as turned R Bris off as thy they went straight to the egg shape ball sport after our game finished. Although unlikely JB can say a lot until the club's taken medical advice.
