First live game for me under JB. I stood behind the goals with the home fans who were a generous bunch, even after my reactions gave the game away. They offered to take me for a pint or two after too.
Never one for massive highs or terrible lows, I thought we were generally a little off the pace. There doesn't seem to be a man free to accept a pass, it often looked like we were playing with 10 men.
A poor day to come back, I hope it wasn't me ! Onwards and upwards, UTG.

We were never going to go unbeaten the remainder of the season.
Treat this as the same wake up call we did after Oldham, three more than winnable games ahead (two at home) who knows where we could be in 10 days time?
We go again

Very uninspiring performance today I thought. We weren't overrun, but seemed very flat and never likely to take charge.
The gas contingent also seemed very quiet, although I was with the Newport fans on the side and they were pretty loud, so maybe I just couldn't hear them.
Not a disaster but definitely a setback.

Not quite at the races today. Looked like a team of leggy players, which I imagine’s what we are given our recent schedule.
A shame but not the end of the world and still all to play for. Think 7+ points out of the next 3 games is achievable if we’re on it.

What I don't understand is bringing Finley on so late. Why didn't he come on for Taylor at HT? I assumed he wasn't well still hence not coming on at HT. When Loft comes on I feel deflated, Finley would have given us a real lift.

A setback for the Gas, as I reckon fatigue will now be a real problem during the season run-in. Having to try and bridge the gap is an added strain! A season finish of about tenth position will be a realistic conclusion. I certainly hope to be proved wrong. UTG.

Finley playing at half pace us a damn sight more use than Loft, from memory all he did was get booked for stamping on a Newport players ankle then, shortly afterwards hitting another player in the face, leading to him required treatment.

Not listened to it yet as turned R Bris off as thy they went straight to the egg shape ball sport after our game finished. Although unlikely JB can say a lot until the club's taken medical advice. So how do we know he is missing for a few games?? I just said it's a worry he'll be missing not that he will be missing, perhaps I should have said "might be missing" Taylor didn't seem to have any treatment on his ankle before leaving the field.

A standard loft performance then. At least he got booked I suppose. Be nice if he could quickly pick up 5 and be suspended.

Taylor "rocked his ankle" according to JB. Strapped it up at halftime but decided to not take a chance with Tuesdays game coming up.

You said it could have been four, if it wasn't for Belshaw. When they only had 3 shots in target, I find that quite funny. Didn't say we played well, but it was a lot closer game, than you were suggesting. Both teams had good spells and bad spells. Both teams missed chances, both keepers made good saves. 15 shots each, we had more possession, they had more corners. Can't argue with the result. But it was far from a one sided game. Pretty certain Belshaw made more than 2 decent saves, did you actually watch the game on iFollow? It wasn't one sided but Newport were the better side and deserved the win, compared to recent performances we were poor. Yes I watched the game. I can remember two good saves, can remember them hitting the woodwork as well. But that does not count as a shot on target. Unless the stats people are wrong, they had three shots on target. I'm not the one that forget all of our chances. Don't know how you can forget the Nicholson and Collins chances at 0 0. Both should have scored. At that stage, were should have been winning. But we got worse as the game went on, until the final few minutes, when we started to move the ball quicker. They managed the game well though and probably just about deserved to hold on. Point I was making, was that it wasn't a game that we should have lost by 3 or 4, as some were making out. On another day, we could easily have taken at least a point. We have played worse and won, but we have played better and lost. That's football, it's about taking chances. We didn't today.

Haven't seen the game so cant comment on the performance but although it's a disappointing result its certainly not terminal as far as our play off chances are concerned. The next 6 games bar Northampton are all against mid to lower table opposition, the opportunity is there for us to go on another run and put ourselves right in the mix. We came back well after Oldham, we now need to do the same again.

Nobody is forgetting the Collins chance but he never really looked like scoring and just hit a tame shot against the defender. Collins was as poor today as he was good Tuesday. Any game where we lose 1-0 you could always argue we could have snatched a draw but the fact is we were poor today and even Barton accepts that was the case, so it seems only you were happy with the performance. www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/joey-bartons-verdict-bristol-rovers-6759896#ICID=Android_BristolPostApp_AppShare
