One of the most impressive changes post lockdown must surely be the Fanzone area, located by the West Stand entrance by the Mem Gates
Music, food, drink and a Rovers shop.
If you haven't tried it yet, why not check it out today?

Yeah it a good crack and the most important thing is the money goes to the Gas.
Why eat and drink anywhere else? You could be unknowingly lining City fans pockets if they owned a chip shop/ pub/ cafe down Glos Rd!
I'll be in the Fanzone after making my donations to the CT's Ukraine appeal.

Fantastic initiative from the club and adds to a great community spirit in my opinion. UTG

Came in from the west entrance yesterday as opposed to the east sides I normally come in via.
Was really impressed by the look of the fanzone. Thought it was just a fried chicken hut but with all the merch and food & drink outlets it looks like the place to be pre match.

I like it, adds a real buzz to that part of the ground.

The fanzone really does add to the match day experience & seems to be getting more popular as fans are using it in bigger numbers. Good to see fans putting money in the clubs coffers rather than local businesses who contribute nothing to the club. Don’t know if it’s possible in future seasons but it would be beneficial if some sort of covered area could be added for when the weather takes a turn for the worse.

Would it cost that much to have some sort of marquee? I believe planning is a bit easier for temporary structures and wouldn't be an eyesore as its just a tarmac space. We could do with another tent, seems ages since the last one. Nice to see some away fans there as well. Something to think about for future stadium plans, concourses are a bit soulless

Another tent? ? Currently we are level with a club in Montevideo for having the most tents for stands but this would put us in the lead!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went to the fanzone for the first time pre-match yesterday and thought it was great.
Such a good use of that part of the ground. Kudos to whoever came up with the idea!

Maybe add a new craft beer tent for us hipsters in attendance? Might be prohibited by the deal with Butcombe. The bars have Statesider on tap but at the mem at least it’s not much to write home about.

The money will go where i get best food, drink and value.. eating a microwaved and crap pasty, for 4 quid, is ridiculous. I always buy my grub at the Bristol fryer. Come on, surely you can’t stomach the grub and at those prices.

Beg to differ here, sorry. They’re local businesses that post lockdown, need supporting. So it doesn’t really matter who they support or whether they even like football at all. I don’t really care about football loyalties enough to deny a business of its custom if its service is good. Plus, the food if you know the right places is cheaper and a lot better value than what you get at the mem. I find most of the food at the mem kind of like food at a cinema, over priced and at the bare minimum quality that they’d be expected to provide as they know they’ve got customers that will pay those prices. On a positive note, I did think the fanzone on saturday was great.

They were behind the west stand or south west, i was surprised as the ones i bought, before this, were nice and fresh. These were flaccid and very poor. I was very hungry so had no choice but i will make sure i eat before i go, next time

Last Saturday there was a pizza place which looked good and there was a van doing wraps and paella. Live music and an outside bar (as well as access to the North Terrace bar) - the only issue is if it rains.

The food in the Fanzone is a massive improvement from the same old pastry products we were dished up every week. And to be able to use them at half time is a bonus just wish they would open the gates from the Thatchers Terrace so people can spread out a bit more.

The fanzone is still in its infancy and test phases - they have been inviting different food outlets in to see what lands well etc and what fans are wanting…. I know the CT gave suggestions on bands too and I think the club are open to suggestions from others although there are certain constraints as ultimately they want the fanzone to be a real asset and place for fans to enjoy… once it’s clear what works and lands well I think we’ll see something more regular and consistent in the offering but with the odd special days if you know what I mean…
