I looked at the line ups for the start of the season and was surprised that Baldwin was a regular starter, Liddle was in every match day squad up until his loan move and played v Cheltenham in the league cup, Brown has played about 6 games including a few sub appearances and Rodders played a few times as well.
I can hardly remember any them in these games apart from thinking Brown looked a decent free signing.
Jones and Langlais have played about 3 times each and Spence I can't remember playing at all (missed the Oxford and Walsall games).
Hopefully Jones gets a bit of experience on loan as I think he could be useful in the next few years, especially as he is left sided.

Yes. It’s not a coincidence that most of last years regular players are not in the team these days. Different culture at the club these days - on and off the pitch. It’s a culture focussed on winning.
Joey has slowly but surely made it clear what he expects. Perform at a high standard, with right attitude and you get in squad. Remarkable turnaround.

Our manager has been brilliant at installing a team culture, he’s obviously a very good at clearly getting over, what he expects from them. Hopefully he’s given a new contract at the end of the season. It’s probably the most enjoyable football to watch since Holloway.

I’ve been watching the gas since 1988 and this is 100% the best football we’ve played since Holloway days. Difficult to compare as we were in league one under holloway and Barton has had to adapt our play to suit different league 2 styles. If we can get promoted I’m really looking forward to seeing a Barton’s rovers play against decent footballing sides. Also the calibre of players he’s managed to attract to a league 2 club it’s exciting to think what he could attract in league one. The gas are coming.

Imo Joey is doing a fantastic job; built a squad capable of winning promotion, brought in players who will be outstanding in the prem and or the championship, Joey is a great tactician and motivator who always has time for particularly local press, happy days are here again. Utg

Utg I do question his ability for adding substitutes, that add to the game. He seems to have one plan then adds a defender if we are winning. Other that that i can see the team is really starting to come together, shame we will inevitably lose a couple.

been off nosing at a few other clubs, looks like a number of our former players are facing a double relegation.
Gills looking worse every game (Ehmer and Tutonda), Morcombe also in real Trouble (Ayunga) and Stevenage I think will go down with Westbrooke (ok he's on loan), Lines, Upson and Daly on thier books.
Wycombe are faltering at the top end and Hanlan isnt getting in the first 11 at the moment so I think we'll be seeing him again next season, when we go up

Would rather avoid a trip there next season though

I’ve been watching since 79, David Williams was building a decent team 84/85. Some very good players, and yes it was a league above. Like you said, if we could get promoted, I’m sure Barton would have a really good shot at league 1. Fingers crossed for the last 10 games. As a few will remember 98/99 season didn’t end too well, with 10 to go 🙏 UTG

Never rated Ayunga but I know there are those who did.Still can't come to terms with the fact that Morecambe on their miniscule crowds and three sided ground are in a higher division than we are.Remember a few years ago drawing 1-1 there and we almost outnumbered the home fans-Eliot scored for us with a great header and the diminutive Jack Redshaw for them .Great player he was and we had JJ on loan at the time.

Has Mccormick not kicked on? Wasn’t he our best player last season?

Has Mccormick not kicked on? Wasn’t he our best player last season? Ive kept a bit of an eye on him since he left. Still one of their better players but doesnt seem as effective for Dons as he was for us. Awful challenge here too;

I don’t think we’ve clicked quite as well as DCs back to back promotion seasons and the following season but its certainly getting there.

Every midfielder is good in tight positions, that certainly wasn’t the case under DC
