Think he is washed as a manager now. Someone may take a punt if he carries on but where after Stevenage? Back to conference level? Scary thing is some people wanted him to stay with us in L2 as he "is good at that level". I genuinely think his record at L2 and L1 level is almost a coicedence as much as anything else, and he's just not a good manager these days. Seems a very complicated individual.

Lot of being wise after the event on here! He’s been relegated once from League 1 and never out of the league. But I’d be surprised if he came back from this setback. Looks like he’s more comfortable in developing a team over time and getting his own players and working with them over time. Not as an impact manager coming in working with others’ players. As we’ve seen! But has he gone? Haven’t seen it reported anywhere. (Don’t do Twitter) Noticed Westbrooke on the bench last night. He’s had a bit of a fall over the two years. From promotion to the Championship to being close to going out of the league! Ouch!
UTG!

So he could end up back with us in the summer...

Stevenage wanted to appoint Evans when he was Gills manager, now they've got him for free! I can't see Westbrooke or Lines being typical Evans players.

Evans will make them harder to beat - hoping for the new manager ‘bounce’ as they have Mansfield and Exeter up next.

Interesting to hear what Neil Harris has been saying about Gillingham. He’s very critical about who they’ve signed and their training and fitness regime. They’ve had lots of injuries and from what he’s said it comes over as veiled (or not!) criticism of Evans. If Zain W didn’t fit into Barton’s plans and how he plays football then he’s no chance with Evans. UTG!

Not really free as they will have to Pay off Tis now. Really hate managers like Tisdale, you could see when he was here that his heart wasnt in it. He was being touted for getting in the England setup not that long ago too!

To be fair, some of us, me included, thought the same about Barton. yeah I was worried he might shame us with violent conduct or get us relegated or something Comforting to know that Tisdale is available in case Joey has to leave eh?

If JB had to leave (to championship or through court) we’d surely look to get in a decent manager now given the trajectory of the club. No more cast offs and has beens now. Speaking of which how are the Teds still satisfied with Pearson?

Should Mr Barton depart our replacement Manager is already at the club........ Clue: 007 I'd give it to Mangan. You’re right, he may depart but I would be surprised if any Championship club would consider JB atm. Too much of a straight speaker for the corporate-speak of the upper leagues. And if JB goes to another club Mangan would follow him. They come in pairs I think, just like Redknapp and Bond, Evans and Raynor, the Cowleys, Eddie H and Jason Tindall. As to Kevin Bond, he’s done a good job on the defence and made us far tighter. (I’m presuming that’s been one of his responsibilities because the two have coincided, I don’t honestly know). But overall, I don’t think JB is going anywhere. I think JB is a football-intelligent manager and he’s seen the potential we’ve all talked about for years and he thinks that with a good, supportive owner like Wael, given time he can achieve the Championship with us. What would happen then who knows? But were he to achieve that then the football world might open up to him. Imo! UTG!

It’s all ifs or buts but the main thing is, were we to achieve the things some are talking of then we would probably not be able to sustain a championship team, if we stay where we are. We really do need those who are working on it, to produce a new place to play. I remember Gerry Francis saying that the bubble had burst, when we got into the second tier and that he had taken the club as far as he saw it possible. I have always wondered if we would have seen him stay on, if we had a decent stadium and the finances to maintain and push on, in tier 2. As gasheads, all we can do is carry on supporting the club and taking our pleasure, when we get it.
