I saw Brian Dutton at the game last night and looks like he is set to take the Academy Managers Role.

Interesting appointment if true, he’s already worked with the youth setup and attracted praise for nurturing youth players during his time at Walsall after leaving us. Surprised he hasn’t ended up at Port Vale with DC.

For heaven sake his last job here was a disaster. Had the role of bringing in players from overseas if I’m not mistaken. Only one that arrived was waels nephew or something.

‘I know he will help improve standards in our academy’ sounds like wael wasn’t too happy with the work Hargreaves was doing then

I can only assume he has Joey’s blessing though? It seems JB left the appointment solely down to TG: "Tom (Gorringe), the CEO, etc, they’ll be developing the academy side of it. Not the answer you want. I’ve seen the academy manager has been named to day, but I haven’t had a moment between managing my family life and managing the football team. Unfortunately, you don’t get a second to dip into the academy" Surprised TG doesn't seem to have sought any input from the footballing side of the club.

In other news, our family used to own a Dutton kit car. Interesting.

Well we seem to be moving up the ladder. It was the Salisbury connection, then it was the Coventry connection now it’s the Liverpool (in its wider sense) connection. I’m sure Brian Dutton will have a grandparent or second cousin who spent a week in Liverpool somewhere along the line. Evolution was always Wael’s strategy. 😉 UTG!

Salisbury connection got us into L1, Coventry connection got us into the L1 relegation zone, Liverpool got us into L2. Let's hope we don't get any advisors from Real Madrid or we'll be playing on the Downs.

Why would he have no input. His mantra has been overhauling the lack of professionalism throughout the whole club, surely that includes the Academy? I didn’t like the time of his statement to be honest. Hopefully JB will take the time to look at the academy over the Summer to try and make us a sustainable club. I would hope that is pat of the remit.
