Dale Vince has just been interviewed on Talk Sport. He admitted that he has funded the latest actions by Stop Oil, the main one which has been disrupting football matches by tying themselves to a goalpost during a game. He gave them £10,000, and, although they did not mention that their new course of action would be disruptive to football, he agrees that they have to target high profile events in order to get the message across.
I'm sure that they would get massive coverage if they cable tied themselves to a goalpost during a Millwall home game. Look forward to seeing that.

I'm all for stopping Russian oil, but surely in the current situation sourcing our own oil again/more has to be the right thing to do, with investment in green and carbon capture technology part of the deal

High profile events? We'll be okay then.😇

The trouble is that we use oil for so much more than energy. Apart from lubricants, pastics derived from petroleum products are in electronics, textiles, medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, everyday household products, etc, etc. Our comfortable lives would literally grind to a halt and fall apart so we currently still need it. The responsible answer is to find sustainable alternatives and more effectively recycle what we already have but that will take time with the former and need greater political commitment for the later. I’m quite sure that future generations will look back on ours with incredulity at our profligacy.

It’s not like the oil companies have had anyone batting on their behalf is it ? With their secretly funded think tanks and Farage & Co already out punting to drop the net zero commitments.

Got to feel for the bloke, he and his mate mate spent weeks up a tree and in a ditch if I remember trying to stop one road down to the south coast. All for sustainable fuel, trees, newts and frogs.
I do believe hydrogen is the way forward but the government cant work out how to tax a fuel that could be very widely available and very cost efficient.
He is a great advocate for the alternative fuel, but needs to perhaps look at alternatives to his windmills where he made his money. Fair play to the bloke, but I need a proper pint of Taunton cider at half time when I visit the Green again. UTG

Plenty of alternatives available and his eco friendly super stadium will be completed Subject to less Romans found on date in Stroud. Wish them well in league one next season.

The trouble with people like Vince is that they are radical green extremists. (don’t laugh!)
Because they have such strong views on the sustainable green future and how to go about moving it forward so quickly it puts 99% of people off actually listening to them. The average Joe doesn’t want to hear about what sacrifices they’ll have to make in the future from some random bloke.

Especially my favourite Steak Puddings... I don't own a car presently (happily due to increases) but I love my meat' and my Steak Pudding Pies.

Wouldn’t it be a shame if some just stop oil activists were to chain themselves to a goalpost during a forest green match 😶

Nuclear power is the way forward. Never mind Russian gas. Never mind gas from the Middle East. Never mind North Sea gas. It’s all about horfield gas.

It’s very simple.
If you have a cause you want to support, donate towards it.
Mr Dale could easily put a big dent into the oil industry (and poverty, and industrial farming, and all those other trendy middle class causes) by perhaps not owning a vanity football club and instead put the money to good use.
My guess is that the family Trust fund will stay nice and protected like any good tory, while “supporting the current thing” loud and proud on Twitter.

Nuclear power is the way forward. To be fair given the stupidity I’ve witnessed over the last 2 years I think nuclear weapons are the way forward.

Nuclear power is the way forward. One of my previous neighbours is working on the European fusion project. Amazing stuff going on over in France
