Quality, quality quality. Only time he’s got it wrong was that goal v posh in fa cup. Easily forgiven for that. 12th man on the pitch 👏👏👏. What is amazing is that the posh goal hasn’t happened more than once. It will happen again at some point, but its worth the risk for how many goals/chances the sweeper role he plays must prevent. Keep it up Belly I am convinced he is going to drop a clanger that costs us autos or the play-offs Just seems set up for it, with all the fans raving about him, thrilled he signed a new contract etc. He deserves all the plaudits, but its that nagging feeling as a fan about how we will f**k it up somehow

He’s gonna be brilliant at a huge part of the reason why we finish in the autos.

Big praise for JB from Belly 👍
Belshaw was acquired by Barton to compete with Anssi Jaakkola for the number one role, but with the Finn's season blighted by injuries the former Harrogate man has grabbed the opportunity to solidify his place.
"The main thing you get from the gaffer is passion," Belshaw added. "He’ll wear his heart on his sleeve and he’ll give everything for the cause. He’s very supportive of the boys, but behind the scenes, he’s very knowledgeable and astute. "He’s got his identity of how he wants us to play and in the early part of the season, I don’t think we were executing that as well as we probably should have as players on the pitch. What has helped recently has been we have been able to settle on an XI in the squad.
"He wants this more than anyone in the dressing room. He’s a great gaffer to work for.”

At aged 31 I am not suprised he has renewed his contract.

At aged 31 I am not suprised he has renewed his contract. Will be coming in to his prime years over these next 3-4 years we’re very lucky to have him. I just hope we can keep him because there will be big clubs watching him.

At aged 31 I am not suprised he has renewed his contract. In my opinion he is coming into his peak years. Goalkeepers generally get better with experience. It’s hard to think of a playing position where experience is much more important. With the best view of the game on the pitch, an older keeper has much more wisdom and command at hand to organise his defence than a fresh- faced youngster. It seems to me a goalkeeping trait is that is crucial is positional sense which also gets better with age. You may not see an over 30 year old keeper throw himself around his goal as much as he did in his 20s but that is because he already knows roughly where to be when a shot or cross is fired in.
