I would like to congratulate the Gas Girls for their second successive promotion and I would like to remind everyone just what an amazing three years the Gas Girls have had. They started off in tier 7 of the Women's game, and next season will play in tier 5. Impressive stuff. They have caught up Forest Green Women and will play them in the league next season (and next month in a friendly). Season 3 – 2021/2022 South West Regional Womens Football League – Northern Division Played 16 Goal Difference 65 Points 43 League Position 1 Season 2 – 2020/2021 Gloucestershire County Womens Football League – Division 1 Played 6 Goal Difference 31 Points 16 League Position 1
Season 1 – 2019/2020 Gloucestershire County Womens Football League – Division 1 Played 10 Goal Difference 32 Points 30 League Position 1 I am really looking forward to the double header against Forest Green, I hope that people stay to watch The Gas Girls. The Gas Girls - Champions

Its a great achievement coming first each season. As each season the opponents get stronger and stronger. Wish them well in the coming season and may their success continue.

It would be good PR if the men's players watched the Gas Girls from the terraces.
I know a lot live up north but the current squad must have two minute showers and jump in their cars asap.
I normally have a drink after the game and many times, I have seen players in tracksuits getting into their cars at around 5.30.
Hopefully they can spend at least 30 minutes supporting the girls.
With less traffic around the ground, they would probably get home at a similar time anyway.

The Gas Girls - ChampionsIt's good stuff, and testament to the local pulling power of the Rovers name. Next season will be their biggest jump so far. It's pretty common for teams to go straight through the regional SW leagues, but only 2 in the last 9 years have managed it in the Premier - Yeovil Town and Buckland Athletic. Hopefully Rovers will the the third to do so, it'll need that pulling power to keep bringing in women of higher ability as they progress.

Looking at the teams for next season, the team are going to be doing a lot more traveling. Whilst still being a regional division, it covers the whole South West.

A good result against FGR will mean more will stay and watch the gas girls. Been to a few games at Lockleaze and was pleasantly surprised considering the level they are playing at and my lack of knowledge of the standard of the womens game. Well organised and everyone knows their job/position and play to their strengths.

Do you know who the local teams in the league are? I would like to take my daughter to a few games next season and would like to catch a "derby".

Yes, through the years I've seen a number of clubs go straight back down or even fold, due to players leaving because of the extra commitment. Won't happen to Rovers of course, different kind of setup.

Don't forget to have a celebratory drink in the clubhouse after the men's game and then watch the Gas Girls in action at the Mem afterwards.
Helps boost the Her Game Too campaign as well.
