Northampton more than capable of winning their two remaining home matches.
Looks like Swindon v Barrow and Walsall away could win both of theirs too
Rochdale away now looks ominous

Finally, after 44 games, Joey and his boys know what they need to do; our fate is in the clubs hands, brilliant bring it on, fancy winning promotion at Wembley, if the club gains automatic, even better. Utg

Surely Exeter will be wanting the title now Like FGRs tonight?? They will be out celebrating and who can blame them. Lots of clubs do poorly, after clinching promotion. Wanted Exeter to lose tonight, but a lot of fans wanted them to win. Exeter are a better team and their form is evidence. There's a difference to chasing and being chased. I think Exeter will finish top

Best case for the weekend Exeter beat Northampton and both Mansfield and Vale get no more than a point and of course we need to win our own games. Let's face it straight promotion has most likely gone after last night's results, as it's unlikely 3 clubs will all slip up. The worry now is won't even finish 4th or 5th unless we win both of our remaining games, even then it's not guaranteed. Looking on the positives, if Mansfield now join FGR and Exeter as the promoted clubs then we're more than capable of beating the other 3 clubs left in the playoffs. Let's see what happens Saturday and Monday. Exeter are very good side and fancy them to beat Northampton. If the other 2 can slip up too then that will be great. But we must win our own games.

I fully expect Port Vale, Northampton and Mansfield to drop points in at least one of their difficult games. If we win both, and they are two easier fixtures than the others face, we are safely ahead of two of them.
Trouble is we need Northampton to draw twice or lose once. Most likely result against Exeter has to be a draw, meaning they have to win against Barrow to guarantee promotion. Puts the pressure on them more than us in the final game.
All assumes we beat Rochdale. We just have to win that.

Thank you for your continued optimism.

Couple of teams pick up a few handy midweek results and all of a sudden our form since New Year totally disregarded, going into two crunch games where we’ll be very heavy favourites🙃🤦🏻 Weird.

Rochdale not going to be easy, we need to be right on our game I just watched the highlights of their recent game away at Exeter and they tore Exeter open a few times in the first 20 mins, could have been 2 up easy.

Some of these comments on here are too damn negative, we might as well not bother travelling to Rochdale on Saturday then!
Have some faith of bunch of bottle jobs.

Or Northampton to draw once and we make up 5 goals😂. Got to be possible v Scunthorpe But if they win one and draw one they will be at least 7 ahead in GD. That's one hell of a gap. So they have to lose one or draw both. I'm going for lose one.

Unlikely but not impossible. Scunthorpe lost by four at home to Mansfield and conceded 5 at Salford. We would need to win by a few at Rochdale as well though and I am not even confident of a win, in that game!!

Obvious thing to say and easier said than done but in both remaining games we need to start quickly. Get an early goal and control the game.
Works for us to settle any nerves. Works against two teams who won't want to put a big shift in chasing the ball.
So I'm hoping to see a lot of energy in the first 15 minutes.

If we’d been a bit more clinical in the final third we could have won at Scunthorpe by 5 or 6. To be fair that’s been an ongoing concern for us.
