Why? Regardless they dropped 2 massive points at the end so could prove to be massive. I agree, choking at the end of a match, even with 9 players on the pitch is really bad for confidence. It sounds an interesting end to the game: "An ill-tempered match boiled over on the back of MacDonald's sending-off, with a mass brawl ensuing and six yellow cards being dished out by referee Charles Breakspear. Among the recipients were the two managers - Micky Mellon and Paul Simpson - seemingly for failing to control their players. Tranmere were reduced to nine men in the first minute of added time, with Kieron Morris sent off for a high boot on Rod McDonald, before Sho-Silva bagged the dramatic equaliser." The match stats suggest Carlisle had 23 shots on goal, so must have been as dominant as we were today.

Let's just hope Mansfield lose their two games in hand! UTG.

Now on the train home. What a game that was, proper good match that we dominated from start to end. Best thing about this team, I never worry they can’t come back/hold on. Some thoughts. Finley and coutts were incredible. Luca is an absolute star. Will play champ or higher. Taylor and Connolly are the best loans we have ever had. If only we had a striker, we’d be clear at the top. Would be tempted to give Leon more time on the pitch. Luke Thomas deserves to score Collins must stop diving. Embarrassing Ref was good again. Never a free kick for our winner tho. We. Are. Going. Up.

Violent conduct 2.0!

Yes, yes, the win was great and let’s hope we go up, but don’t forget the new dimension watching Rovers: being entertained.
When we get it together it’s not just the pleasure of watching the gas succeed, it’s actually enthralling to watch our team. Speaking objectively, we have a team of skilful players and even for a neutral, our team can perform to the extent that it’s genuinely entertaining.
The one thing we lack is a bona fide striker. We looked even better when Clarke came on, who is the closest we have to this

I was impressed with the Ref again today. He let the game flow which suited us,just like he did when he reffed the Oxford game. They were going down like 9 pins that night but he wasnt swayed and it enabled us to keep up the momentum just like today Me too. Got most decisions spot on although I would raise a question of whether he should have sent off Watt for his challenge on Collins when clean through. Agreed. Should have been a red.

A mod ended an argument by deleting the posts which were starting to needle between a couple of posters. If you want to have a bitch at each other, then feel free, but do it in PM and leave the main board to discuss the match day thread. Please.

IMO easily the best performance of the season - that was a really good football match - made my week-end - starting with a bootle of red right now. 'Bootle of red'? Honorary Scouser? 😃

I saw it as Violent conduct rather than last man (professional) foul. Defender took a bad touch, ball was miles away, Collins in full stride and it was a hacked lunge with studs right on the ankle, Collins was lucky to have walked away from it and finished the 90mins. Definite red for me.

Elliot Anderson had danced his way through one of their players only to get tugged and tugged and it could have been a good goalscoring opportunity. Ref played advantage but didn't come back to book the player (frustrates me how much this happens).

Gosh what a day, bit of a chilly start but the sun was shining and the atmosphere pre game was brilliant, the fanzone really is working and creating a buzz. Entering the ground maybe a little like visiting Chernobyl however it’s the people that make places and I swear I haven’t seen so many youngsters/families at Rovers before and most of all they seem to be enjoying the experience.
Onto the game and boy when the whistle goes the nerves and anxiety kicks in, and I mean in the crowd not on the pitch where the lads look confident, totally dominating the game they went behind ridiculously, but then, oh my did they respond by slipping into top gear, relentless pressure eventually showing the true winners out there.
I have to say I think this is the best style of football I have ever seen at Rovers. Whatever I happens I am so proud of my team and club again 💙
Enjoy your Sunday.

Just a worry that most of the other teams, around us, have at least one game in hand and many have 2. I think this could be the biggest problem for us although, personally, I would rather have points than games in hand

Great performance. Every player 8+/10. Totally dominant and deserving winners.
However, given the form of Exeter, Mansfield and Port Vale we might need to win our last 6 games to secure a top 3 finish. That's a tall order.
Tranmere (A) - Best home record in L2. Salford (H) - Superb form. Unbeaten in 11. Won their last 4. Port Vale (A) - Superb form. 1 defeat in 16 games. Won 5 of last 6 games. FGR (H) - L2 leaders. Most points. Most goals scored. Fewest goals conceded. Rochdale (A) - Only lost 4 of 20 home games this season. Only lost 1 of last 14 at home. Scunthorpe (H) - Should win this one but we all remember Dagenham.
