I love DC and what he did for our club and he’s clearly been through something utterly tragic recently, however sentiment has to unfortunately go out the window on Monday and we go all out for the 3 points. Something that will be incredibly tough but most definitely doable.
That being said, if anyone was to get the last automatic promotion spot ahead of us, then I think for most Gasheads, we’d prefer it to be them.

Monday is now a massive massive game. Win and we’re 2 points behind and the pressure will be well and truly on. Draw or Lose and the play offs will be nailed on then. Looking forward to it and seeing DC again. All I’ll say is PV deserve to go up as much as us this season. I don’t know about draw or lose and play offs nailed on. We’re not there yet although it’s great to see us 4 points above 8th we’ve got two very tough games coming up.

I was 38, BEST day of my life......[SORRY]!!.....LOL Has DC been at any of the games since he returned? If we don't beat you Monday then you have to feel confident of getting that 3rd place? Yesterdays game at the monkey hangers was his first tentative live match back..... For sure he will be there on Monday v the gas and no doubt will get a great reception from one and all..... We also have some sad little set up called Walsall [away] in a couple of weeks where sadly the mutual hatred may spoil such a reception....

Some very nice comments here about DC as expected. Less so perhaps all the good wishes here for the Vale, Monday aside of course. IF we beat the gas then I think we could get promoted with a home win over Newport a week on Monday in the live sky match. I assume this is why Sky chose us to be live for this match. My personal preference would be for us to seal the deal at Smalsall the following match. What an icing on the cake that would be for DC and us all!......
I assuming all the Gas thinking the same this morning, ANYTHING BUT THE DAMN PLAYOFFS!!

Would a small club like Port Vale make any headway in the third tier? I think it will be the same for any of the promoted clubs. Exeter have been a yo-yo team like Rovers. There is quite a difference in quality at top half of Division1. Still, the Gas will confront these issues when promoted!

Port vale aren’t considered a small club in league one far from it there 19,000 all seated stadium also suggests there ready for the championship as well.

Fair play. Never realised your stadium was that large. Practically twice Bristol Rovers Memorial Ground capacity!!Very embarrassing for a club in the size of Bristol.

We probably hold the record for least stadium improvements over the last 30 years! Embarrassing.

We probably hold the record for least stadium improvements over the last 30 years! Embarrassing. We've probably had the most improvements. It's just been like a DIY enthusiast putting up new cupboards whilst we sort out the mortgage on a new house (I'm proud of that poor analogy)

I think we need to go for it, my team need would be
Belshaw Hoole Taylor Connolly Grant/Anderson Courts Finley Thomas Evans Billy Collins
Then bring on Anderson (H) latter on to take advantage of those tired legs

Vale have spent something like 45 seasons in the Championship Vale Park is nearly twice the capacity of the Mem, with a record crowd of just under 50,000 on our way to being cheated in the FA Cup semis. I think you may have confused us with a small club like Walsall!

Been upto Vale a few times, it's actually a nice stadium in respect and I always found the locals a friendly bunch. If you like real ale you'll like the Bulls Head on St John Square, opposite the church and just down from the war memorial. Always friendly to away fans (apart from Stoke, obviously.) Barbecue out the back too. There's a local brewery called Titanic (the Captain was from SOT) who sell there.

Sorry lads, was talking bollocks. Due to the 5 figure crowd expected, the Bulls Head has asked on social media that it be home fans only tomorrow to manage overcrowding. Stone is a nice little canal town about 15 mins from Vale, just off the M6 and A road; Load of nice pubs available to away fans there. There's also the village of Barlaston close by, Neil Morrissey owns the Plume of Feathers canalside in the village, apparently the food is very good. The Spotgate Inn a few miles to the east is a nice old gastropub that does a bit of a novelty thing of outside seating in 1920s train carriages.

Biggest game since, yesterday? Or Dagenham 2016?
With Vale visiting Exeter on the final day and Mansfield hosting FGR, to get within 2 points of DC’s men at this stage is 1000% needed.
