Love Connor Taylor and if we go up then you never know and Stoke may decide to let him come back to is in league 1 for another season but more than likely he will probably not be here next season but James Connolly I'm sure Cardiff will offer him a new deal but I got a feeling that the fact Joey wanted him before he joined Cardiff, he is playing week in week out and he seems to have really settled here and is loving it then if we and Cardiff both offer him a contract he will choose us 🤞
Calm and composed and not afraid to bring the ball out, Yes he and Taylor will have lapses at times considering their age but if Taylor does go back to Stoke then I would be happy with Connolly and Kilgour at the back next season.
Great to see him score today 👏

Hasn’t got enough credit as Taylor has been outstanding all season. He’s hardly put a foot wrong at all.

Kilgore can’t play football unless he is asked to hoof it!, if he ever gets a first team spot then it means the better players are injured.

Yeah I like Alfie but he’s not a central defender that suits our style I think. If we haven’t got either of our two or neither next season then they need to be replaced with CBs of similar style and I don’t think Kilgour fits that. He was brilliant alongside Millwall Tone but that was a very different style of play.

Taylor is an outstanding CB already, and will only improve. We are incredibly lucky to have him.

I’d like to see Alfie still in the squad next season. Hopefully injury free and able to improve his all round game. Sign Connolly plus at least one more CB.

Absolutely - definitely has a part to play as a squad player. Obviously if we get promoted, L1 will be a step back up - but even then he's probably good enough to have as backup.

Offer them both 3-year contracts and let's get it done - Stoke will want a sell-on clause if they let him go. But hey we all know Connor Taylor has a future at Stoke and we are blessed to be part of his journey. A fantastic player!
Probably the best centre-back I have ever seen at Rovers.
James Connolly is also a massive prospect and hopefully, he will join us for next season! Alfie for sure is a good player and can be part of the squad and progress with the GAS that's my view.

I'd love to think we could sign Taylor & Connelly but realistically I don't see Taylor being allowed to leave. Connelly I think is out of contract so we have a chance regardless of whether Cardiff want to keep him or not. Regular football with us against being a squad player at Cardiff might well swing it in our favour particularly if we go up. Kilgour I'd definitely keep, I think he's a better footballer than some give him credit for. I think Barton likes him as well, he played him as soon as he was fit earlier in season. He might not be first choice but more than a capable back up whichever division we are in

Playing regularly in a division higher in a team they already know would be good for all concerned. Got to get up first.

As he was not developed by Cardiff I assume there would be no compensation involved if he was to sign for us. Wonder how many teams are looking at him at the moment.

Think JB will appreciate that and see a kid who wants to work hard and better himself; that appears to count for a lot with Joey (and rightly so). Think Joey might see him as a project and relish that.

I said similar on a thread a couple of weeks ago about Connolly... I will be the first to admit that I was massively underwhelmed when we seemed to send a hurried tweet out just before the Posh game to announce we had signed him. He really did seem a stop gap at the time due to injuries/illness/suspension and would be on the bench once we got some of our players back but.... WOW! He has been immense for us. He isn't the biggest for a CB but he is composed on the ball, times his challenges well, bit of pace and wins more than his fair share in the air. Him and Taylor have formed one of the better CB partnerships we have had in recent times and whilst Cardiff are sure to have taken note of his performances for us, I really do think we stand a chance of signing him next season. He seems to love it here and being first choice in a (hopefully) L1 team may well be more of an appeal to him than being a back up player in the Championship.

The lads been outstanding. So good with his passing, never seems to give it away and very very rare to see him even play a long ball, which is like a breath of fresh air to see a defender for us with so much composure.Top lad.

He's been superb. We should do everything possible to persuade him to sign for Rovers.
I would think we have a good chance.
Cardiff is just over the bridge, so probably doesn't need to move home.
Here he'd get the opportunity to play every week, for a team on the up, a manager he seems to get on with really well, and a fan base that love him.
Whether we're in L1 or L2, I'm feeling confident of another good season in 2022/23 and I'd like to think Connolly would want to be a part of it.

Our upturn in form has largely coincided with the loaning of James, I think he has been as good as Connor. Hopefully with less of the spotlight on him we may have a chance to sign him.

Loads of good league 1 / smaller championship clubs I’d imagine. Got to win promotion to have any chance of Connelly , Taylor no chance even if we go up I reckon, but hope I’m wrong .

I think he is another Scouser, so is probably only renting in Cardiff.
Out of Evans, Taylor and E Anderson, I think he is the best chance of retaining his services, although we would have to pay compensation.
Sammy Nich has had injury problems, but I would be happy if he signed on again.
