Now I don’t want to get into a debate regarding the managerial skills of DC and JB that comparison can wait if JB gets us out of this division and challenging in the playoffs in Division 1. But I like everyone else loved DC’s wit and humour in his interviews, who can forget his little wink to the camera when he first spoke about Matty Taylor walking out on us, absolute classic moment 😂😂 Like everyone he wasn’t perfect though and I used to get frustrated by his continued references of ‘Dusting ourselves down’ and ‘Next week is a different project’ etc. At first JB was engaging but as the football was slow to get going results wise he want off on a tangent with quotes from 16th century poets or something!! Since things have been superb on the pitch though he has been absolutely box office with how he engages with the camera. As an exiled fan mixing with the usual prem supporting numpties he makes me want to run through walls busting a gut in the name of the Gas so god only knows how inspirational he is to the team. Anyway I loved listening to both, but JB without the humour is just as entertaining. Fair points or way off the mark?

I agree I have enjoyed joes interviews since day one. He is engaging and extremely passionate. He makes you want to go and watch the gas. His team plays with as much energy and passion as he demonstrates. Long may it continue.

I do not know if the two things are related.

I do not know if the two things are related. Have been thinking about a fully engaged and optimistic JB is great. The passion comes across and its difficult not to get caught up in it (I remember one of his first interviews and his instant love for the city and that we deserved more, as a sceptic at his appointment, it got me excited). I worry about the next time things arent going well on the pitch though. For me, how he reacts to that will determine if he is going to be a really successful manager.

I think it’s definitely related, with the improvement on the pitch he’s got a lot more to say that’s worth hearing rather than being on the defensive the whole time

I think if we go up we'll see a different side to Barton. He's been restrained in interviews because he doesn't want to tempt fate, but promotion, the Guy will be same as the rest of us.

Good manager, finally, but as a person he's not a patch on DC and never will be.

Good manager, finally, but as a person he's not a patch on DC and never will be. I think that’s because we got to think of DC as a Gashead and the fact he ‘got us’. I think Barton is slowly starting to understand the Gas and this will only improve the longer he’s with us . * This comment is only to do with the footballing side and not other things !

Hopefully we do go up. I wouldnt like to get Northampton in the play offs as Barton pretty much gave their team talk after the last game. I bet they would even get Ian Atkins there as guest of honour to really rub it in.
