Radio Stoke this morning.'If we fail at home in front of 9000 fans against Bristol Rovers ,how on earth will we do at Wembley in front of 50,000.' Also amused that they claim automatic promotion is still possible which I suppose in theory it is. There’s clutching at Straws & then there’s that😁 Cobblers have to lose at Barrow Gas have to lose at Home to woeful Scunny Mansfield have to lose to out of form FGR, at home AND they have to beat the champions elect at St James Park, having lost 3 in a row😂 I don’t think Vale will even make the play offs.

Can anyone else not concentrate today! Our chances of autos must be higher than 2016 (same game for us, but harder and away for our only rivals for autos). Can lightening strike twice?!
If we do go up 3rd, I fancy Swindon to do the business in the play offs, they are coming back into form at just the right time. Mansfield & Vale (if they hold on) not looking great. Cobblers would be on a real downer.
If we are in play offs, would ideally avoid Swindon all together! Sutton in semis, Mansfield in the final please.

There were two positions up for grabs in 2016 though weren’t there?

We're almost certainly relying on Barrow doing us a favour on Saturday.
Unfortunately, they have the 3rd worse home record in L2.
However, On the plus side, they have won their last 2 at home against FGR and Sutton.
Northampton are odds on to beat Barrow (4/7) with the bookies, Rovers are 50/1 to win 6-0, 150/1 to win 7-0. Northampton are 1/3 for promotion, Rovers are 11/10.
Northampton have won their last 2 away games, including an impressive 4-2 at Leyton Orient, who have won 7 of their last 10 in L2. That's the result and performance that really worries me, I was hopeful they might drop points there.
The odds are still stacked heavily in Northampton's favour but our chances have certainly improved now we're just looking for one other result to go our way.
I still think we'll end up in the playoffs but we know from 2016 that anything can happen on the final day.

We need an early goal to send reverberations around the Barrow away end.

Barrow have a very good keeper too in Paul Farman, looked good in both games against us. Lets hope he is on form, or doesnt have anything to do on Sat...

Are Barrow really going to be that fussed who gets promoted? Rochdale seemed to be on Saturday and Newport clearly were yesterday.

Don't know if it's been mentioned before, but did anyone watch the EFL programme on Quest this Saturday (so before yesterday's results)? Colin Murray asked who the pundits thought would get third place, one went for Port Vale, one for Mansfield and Colin went for us. No mention of Northampton which surprised me.

Danny Webber, Skys pick for football league analysis on Monday along with the FGR manager also tipped Mansfield to grab the third spot….after they’d just drawn to Salford. WHILST, looking at a graphic of the current league table and each teams remaining fixtures😂🤣🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻

In fairness this was when they both had a game in hand that would have allowed them to leap frog both us and Northampton.

Given that Mansfield's game at Salford always looked a tough one as does PV's at Exeter. PV are now in grave danger of missing out on the playoffs, although the way they are playing that might not be a bad thing for them.
