So who is everyone's pick for Captain on Saturday??
Got a feeling even if Whelan starts for me it has to be Sam Finley but wondering if others has someone else in mind??

Finley. Until he's sent off, then Belly

I'd give it to Belly for the day. After his outstanding season would be a very popular choice.

Defo not Belshaw. The captain gets to bend the ear of the ref all the time. Something a keeper captain will not be able to do.
Whelan...then hand it to Finley when he is subbed 2nd half.

It literally doesn't matter a jot who's the nominal captain for the day. It's a weird obsession that some English fans have, never understood why people place any importance on it at all.
Does anyone seriously think a professional player changes how they perform based on whether or not they're wearing a small armband? 😂

He is the one the others look to in the heat of the battle, ordering, leading his troops. If things aren’t going well he picks them up, and leads. I’m not sure who we have in that bracket, Coutts has been a fine captain. I’m sure the other younger players would benefit from Whelan. If not, Belly.

I swear Finley has worn the armband for us before so I am guessing him.

It’s about how that person influences others that counts.

If a load of players need a captain to do that, you’ve got a weak team

Belly wanders about so much he’s often nearer to the ref than his own goal! Besides he’s used to communicating over distance so I reckon he can make the ref’s ear bend however far away from him he is.
