Oh really? I'll raise you 4k a week to say they would! Now we're promoted I am sure we'll be giving them incentives. You can tell they all love it here. I like the idea but sadly that's not reality. There's teams in lg1 that could double+ the contracts of all of our squad and in division 3, that's difficult to ignore for a young player. Who would stand in the way of Collins if one if those sides offered to treble his wages?

Will Cowley be at Pompey much longer anyway? Went on their forums and they compare him to a PE teacher, not liked at all down there...

I assume players get a promotion bonus/ increase in salary now? (they took a cut in salary after relegation). Would also be looking to offer better terms for extended contracts to the likes of Collins, Anderson and Finley

We should wait and see how they perform at the higher level before handed out big pay rises . Some will make the grade and others won’t and it’s not always the ones you think will that do or don’t .

I guess that's down to the staff to determine who will make the step up. If they do well from the start, some with 1 year left may run their contract down knowing other clubs will come knocking with bigger pay cheques

From Pompey? Not exactly top table outfit in League One anymore, merely running on previous glories like the Tractor Boys. Lee Brown.

I have this sneaky feeling Collins will just get better and better. Still young and learning, will definitely benefit from going up a division, better protection from refs and not so much physical stuff. Looks dangerous when he collects the ball from deep and runs at players. I personally think he's been hard done by on a number of occasions this season, because he's so quick and lightweight definitely gets fouled more than we've got decisions from the refs. I'd offer him an extension on his contract for sure.

Proven to be a very good signing though.

I don't think Pompey could though.
This group of players has something special about it, and it would take a lot to make them want to move, especially a sideways one.
The likes of Rotherham, Wigan, Wycombe etc seem to manage it and keep their better players and finish above or in and around those clubs

I can see pompey making offers for Harry Anderson Azzer collins and Belly they re desperate for a keeper.
Need to rebuff all offers, and hope JCH moves for a decent figure to swell our coffers.

Last line is a great point. No reason we should be losing the likes of Collins or Anderson without big offers that people wont pay for a decent season in League 2. With the exception of Wrexham! If they come up they will try and buy all the top performers from Lg1 and Lg2 from this season!

Cowley is under a bit of pressure at Pompey. A very under whelming season when he’s cleared some players out, Harrison, Marquis and the players he brought in haven’t set the league alight. Hurst not bad but Tyler Walker, a loan from Coventry was woeful when everyone thought he would be very good. He’s going to be linked with a few this season. Might even be wanting a reunion with Harry Anderson after their time at Lincoln and not Collins. We’ve got a fair few good attacking players who can carry a ball so we will get plenty of these stories this summer.
UTG!

Collins is playing the best football of his career and loving life at Rovers, can't see him jumping ship for a team in the same division. Given his age and form in 2022 they would have to pay at least a million and I can't see that happening. Money talks Not with everyone 🙏🤔

Im just being hopeful.

Both Lee Brown & Ellis Harrison left Rovers for Portsmouth & Ipswich respectively a few years ago, Ellis is now playing in front of crowds of 3000 for Fleetwood & Browner is back in league 2 with AFC Wimbledon, the grass is not always greener on the other side.

I don't think any of this current crop will want to leave this group. There seems to be something special here You can eat that quote when someone offers you double or triple wages tomorrow at work to do the same job at a “bigger” company
