Watching Sky end of season and “‘avin a few beers”, so after, inevitably singing along to ‘Tote End Boys’. Does anyone know anything about Ben Gunstone? I have heard, and quite like, a few of his other tracks, but know nowt’ about him. Does he still watch us/live in Bristol/ play live? Why not on the pitch at halftime then in the Fanzone after the match etc. etc.
IPG
PS All the best Tilly!

A Google suggests he still is… easy enough to get his e-mail address from there.

Not sure why but I have never been a massive fan of that song. Trudged out of the mem in the rain after a defeat listening to it too many times I guess. It’s a great background to the video but doesn’t suit the mood after a win. Too bluesy. I like Corb Lund, played loud on the evening of May 7th. “It’s time to switch to whiskey we been drinking beer all day”

As far as I understand it, he’s a mate of Alain Whyte, who did/does play guitar for Morrissey; I believe he may have even contributed to a couple of Morrissey songs. He’s released several albums, which apparently got some critical acclaim. And I think he was a teacher in Bristol and has since gone back to that profession.

Middle of the road indie dirge Sounds nothing like Indie' or the Indie I listened to as a young man. It doesn't have the same quality's as Blur or shall we say The Verve etc or even that Indie sound of Richard Ashcroft's album a few years ago 😡

Song would probably win Eurovision song contest in 2023 if Ukraine are rested from the competition
Ben is a talented singer song writer and deserves more credit than some on here who prefer garage and drum bass dirge.

Same here, still feels like a new ground to me.
Can’t believe we have been there since 1996.
I think Eastville will always feel like home.

What was the last piece of Drum and Bass you listened to? I’m no Metal fan but find the occasional track catchy, and would never refer to it as durge.
