The Grauniad has suggested that this is their TEAM OF THE YEAR in League Two.
Jojo Wollacott (Swindon); Nathan Smith (Port Vale), Connor Taylor (Bristol Rovers), Pierce Sweeney (Exeter); Kane Wilson (Forest Green), Ebou Adams (Forest Green), Timothy Dieng (Exeter), Antony Evans (Bristol Rovers), Elliot Anderson (Bristol Rovers); Dominic Telford (Newport), Matty Stevens (Forest Green).
Cannot disagree with some of those selections.

Looks good to me apart from the keeper (who couldn't even get into the Swindon team by the end of the season!!) and Sweeney (his CB partner Sam Stubbs looked a lot better)

Dom Telford had a good season.Didn't really make his mark with us but was very sharp when he came on at the league cup match at Molineux. Joe Partington's best game in a Rovers shirt I thought.

That’s spot on. Much better than the ‘official’ one. Belshaw probably has a very good shout to be included as well.
No doubt Elliot should be in there. I get it’s only half a season but he was the best player that played in league 2 last season imho.

James Belshaw, across the four top leagues, has to be the best signing of the '21-22 season.

It says something when those three players, who fully deserve to be in the league 2 team of the year for outstanding performances, can have no complaints that Belly pipped them to our player of the year. He saved us in vital moments on numerous occasions and enabled us to boss possession with his extreme ‘sweeper-keeper’ style. I maintain that it won’t always work, but it gave us a big advantage in the second half of the season.

Brave as a lion and loves to come out to the ball, whether it be to feet or other. He has to get the GK spot

On the subject of Telford, I wouldnt be against resigning him.

If Collins makes it for his form in the 2nd half of the season. Didn't get his 1st league goal until December.
Then Elliot Anderson should be in it too. The best player in the league by an absolute stratosphere, I would suggest one of the very best players to have played at that level full stop for many a year.

Any of the other 11 that would improve our starting line up if they were available?

Fantastic GK but what to do with Ansii ? I've wondered how he feels about the situation. Presumably he's earning a decent wage here compared to many other L1/2 clubs, especially at his age, so he's probably not missing out financially, but he's a great keeper and it must be frustrating to see out the late stages of his career on the bench.

One thing I know, just from the team sports I played and that was really hating being a sub. It was a great bit of luck in getting Belshaw and there was no way Ansii could get a game. My own opinion is that if he wants to further his career then he would go where he gets games. As you say, he is probably on a decent wage so we will see what happens

Still has to prove himself in L1
