Construction work is to set to start on Muller Road next month and is expected to be completed in the spring of 2023.
A 24-hour bus lane is to be installed on Muller Road between Downend Road and Ralph Road, which will incorporate a bus gate at the junction with Ralph Road. Work will also include resurfacing part of Muller Road and installing traffic signals at Ralph Road.
As part of the works, modal filters will be created on Springfield Avenue, Draycott Road and Brent Road to stop traffic other than bicycles cutting through from Muller Road. The council said that temporary traffic lights will be in use on Muller Road, and, towards the end of August, Ralph Road will close to vehicles at its junction with Muller Road and remain closed for most of the works.

It said: "The diversion route for traffic will be signposted via Ashley Down Road, Gloucester Road, Filton Avenue and Muller Road. Some residential roads may also be closed at their junction with Muller Road while the works take place to avoid rat-running.
"This temporary traffic management and diversion route will allow the works to be carried out efficiently over a shorter period."

A minimum of 6 months just to build a short bus lane, how long would it take BCC if they ever started work on any underground system, half a century?

Fulton avenue will be the alternative if coming from Kingswood. Muller road is a nightmare in normal situations No it’s Wonderful……..yet another reason to let the train take the strain and make a day of it. On toppers note a few years back on the way to work I watched a roundabout get built, took nearly a year, still can’t quite get my head around that one.

Wish i had that option but me and a friend drive on alternate matches , so the other can have a drink. No train from the wood I’m in Frome and a five minute walk from the station, only shame is the trains are often rammed until Bath, quite often painfully, and not as frequent as I’d like, although not that bad value tbf, £13.00 return.

Why on earth does muller road need a bus lans? The road is far to narrow for such a thing. Typical Bristol city council. There no need for this massive disruption.

How misinformed are you? I live over a hundred miles away from Bristol, although I visit family in the area several times a year. My vehicle is a diesel car that has free road tax and is exempt from the congestion charge that is proposed in Bristol.

Great. So all we need to do is shut down all economic activity. Win-win.
