Massive missed opportunity here today. The West / South kiosks had next to nothing. The Rollover Hotdog 🌠hut had none of these left at 2:00pm and only drinks, which were also run out by 3:15 and the whole kiosk closed. One tiny beer wagon trying to service all. Pasty hut queue was 100yds long and no food left at all once queue died down. If they’d fully stocked these and set up bottle bars (plastic bottles / cans) for drinks they could have made thousands. £20+ quid from me not taken. A tad disappointing to say the least, both from an empty stomach perspective and a club funds perspective

Exactly the same on the east side. One pasty van open. Took 20mins to get served

Yep. Poor on east side. I decided to skip on getting anything before and at half time.
I’d normally get two drinks at least and some form of snack.

A paltry ÂŁ500 first prize for the 50/50 as well. Pre COVID (with cash) it would have been ÂŁ1,500.
Many people just did not know it was cashless and many did not want to use a card for just ÂŁ1.
No fault if the seller as she was her usual jovial self, but it definitely took much longer to get served as well. Extra time waiting in the cold and wet will reduce sales even further.
Ps, I did not see anywhere advertising that the programmes had gone up in price. That said credit where credit is due the programme is much much better value for money than last seasons. Well done the Ed.
Also why did the rent a mob stewards stop people getting in the clubhouse after the game. It was only about a quarter full and no doubt lots of people wanted to stay and have a drink while watching the Liverpool v Man City game.
All in all another situation where the club has not capitalised on a big crowd and the feel good factor. This loss of potential earnings may come back to haunt us if we are below mid table in winter when the utility bill price hikes kick in and we are looking to spend in the January transfer window.

On the matter of pies I haven’t had one yet but I understand Piglets Pastries have been replaced. Surprised by that as their pies were always banging in my experience.

No way I am having THAT many people managed to pay without using cash, so much so we actually sold out? Nah, not having it.

I doubt we sold out due to high demand but due to low supplies, particularly as when we did sell out 100's of season ticket holders were still trying to sort out their season ticket cards at the ticket office.

Once we'd managed to sort our tickets out we headed for a quick pint behind the south west stand, unfortunately the card reader wasn't working so it was cash only, you couldn't make it up! In thier defence they did sort it out in the end but plenty of punters had already turned away.

Yes it was a shambles. 2 stands were closed on east side before the game had even started.

I doubt we sold out due to high demand but due to low supplies, particularly as when we did sell out 100's of season ticket holders were still trying to sort out their season ticket cards at the ticket office. That is what one of the staff told me. Two pasty huts on the east side and one didn’t open at all because they didn’t have enough food to put in it. The staff who were supposed to be manning it were just stood around. That left one pasty hut as the only outlet selling drinks - if you wanted a hotdog and a drink you had a long wait in two separate queues. The hotdog hut (which last year sold drinks and still says it’s selling drinks on the signs) wasn’t selling drinks. However, you only got to find this out when you became the front person in the queue and could see the A4 piece of paper say “No drinks” led flat on the counter. Comical To cap it all Fawlty Towers stadium had completely sold out of Waldorf’s.

That’s ridiculous. Especially with the family stand gone there could be two queues properly signed - one for if you want food, the other if you just want drinks.
The club doesn’t half make some poor decisions at times.
Remember when they insisted on two queues on the east side yet everyone queued in one still?
about time a proper queue system was established on the east side.
Gents toilets should be one way too, in by the bar, out by the smoking area.

Yep. Poor on east side. I decided to skip on getting anything before and at half time. I’d normally get two drinks at least and some form of snack. Was in the queue around 2:30 when they announced that there were no more Cornish pasties or balti pies. That’s poor to run out so soon. Went for one of the chicken and chorizo pasties which was decent but fell apart so was hard to eat.

Probably no staff not easy to get staff these days ? There were staff twiddling their thumbs in the closed pasty hut on the east. In their words they didn’t open due to a lack of food. A bit odd they chose not to split what food they did have between the two outlets to reduce the queues especially since the staff must still have been getting paid - I’ve never seen the queues that long at 2:55 let alone 1:55.

Great vegan pasties today, we will sell a lot this season when people like the taste and do not judge what is in them.

Slightly off topic (but still related), does anyone know why the Thatchers bogs were shut, with only the cubicles open at one end and the bogs by the turnstiles? Surely not staffing issues? Maybe health and safety finally caught up with us?
Anyway, like the team today, let’s all hope these are just early season teething problems.

I queued up for ages at the phat stall for a pasty, when I got to my east stand seat to eat my lunch, the pastry was still raw! Still, the exchange system they have was quick
