Wow! what a time for those who are involved in the Woman's game! my message to you all is 'don't miss this golden opportunity to promote yourselves and your club'. obviously i am aiming this at our own Gas Girls. I for one am able to look at the woman's game as a sport in it's own right without comparisons to the men's game. Those involved at Gas Girls must use this opportunity to educate those like myself who have a passing interest in there fortunes without really knowing much about them, where they play, what league they are in, there ambitions or anything else. I do remember Rovers being quite high profile in the woman's game years ago and one of the fore runners before it all changed and evolved into Bristol Academy and now Bristol City, so come on all at the Gas Girls, time to jump on the train which has taken your game to the heights , get your publicity stuff out there , its a great chance to pick up some new fans and young stars of the future!

Agree with above. Loads of politicians and commentators jumping on the bandwagon to level up the mens and womens teams, only one that I have heard say he has ever watched a womens game, ( Kevin McGuire, Sunderland women). Fair play to Rovers for playing the friendly at the Mem but I seem to remember the crowd wasn’t great unfortunately. IPG www.bristolroverswomensfc.com

Hopefully the Gas Girls get regular games at the Mem, I’m sure more will go as they progress through the leagues.

To be fair, they have been doing just that over the course of the three years they have been in existance.
Agree 100%, this is a golden opportunity for the Women's game to grow, and quite right too.

Shifts owing, will get down Lockleaze for a game or two next season. The match against FGR at the Mem was very enjoyable, 3 cracking goals n all!

It's absolutely phenomenal to see the response to the Women's game as the Euro's came to an awesome conclusion last night. Some of us were there to witness it! We've also been inundated with emails regarding the 'Gas Girls' and how people have reached out to us. Again, it's incredible. But there are a few things that people need to realise about the structure of the 'Gas Girls'. It's ran solely on the commitment and enthusiasm by volunteers. The players also pay a very small annual fee. The 'Gas Girls' are funded by some passionate sponsors who see their funds venture into community projects for girls within the area. Which we very proudly won an award for by the FA in 2019/20 (https://www.bristolroverswomensfc.com/bristol-rovers-womens-fa-award) We have dozens of plans, aspirations and ideas to take this club to the next level but ultimately, it's all implemented by people who do it in their spare time, for the love of the game and the club. There's just so much that they can do currently. Discussions are always ongoing about every single aspect but ever since our launch in 2019, we have; Gained back to back promotions Have a Development which won their respective League last season An education programme which has seen a dramatic increase in female students Won the FA Community Development Award Have two special edition away shirts in the National Football Museum Fund free football sessions for girls at Lockleaze Sports Centre Run free after-school football sessions for girls Established a working partnership with the EFL & FA to refer girls onto the England Pathway Supported the Community Trust with their project delivery (Pandemic response, kids parties and grassroots events etc) Welcomed over 2,500 fans to The Mem for a Her Game Too friendly against Forest Green Recruited a valued volunteer team consisting of professional S&C Coaching, Analysis sessions and a mental-health first-aider to support both squads. All originating from nothing and executed by volunteers. We will look harder than ever to ensure that the 'Gas Girls' continues to grow and make our fan-base proud. The girls absolutely love playing for this club and a lot of that is down to your support. For the club to grow, we that support to grow in unison, so join us on the journey. It won't happen overnight but we'll get there! If you've emailed us, we'll get back to you ASAP. We've got a lot to get through. UTG! UTGG!!

brct - Great work. I think a lot of the commentators that are part of the womens game really tried to emphasise the efforts of people like you and your team in their comments over the last few days. The crowd of 2,500 was more than I remembered it to be, so sorry about that! Keep up the good work and will try to change my ‘mindset’ to UTG and UTGG.

I just looked at the fixture list and was curious as to why there are no games scheduled in February. Does anyone know the answer? Is it cup competitions?
