Surely with the cost of living supporting your team home and away will become even more restrictive. I am suprised so many can afford to watch Rovers in such large numbers. Season ticket prices have remained static for a few seasons now. With petrol and public transport fares, apart from food and drink, surely the squeeze must be starting?

£20 + for league 2/1 football IMO has always been over priced and maybe one good thing to come out of this is we see a reduction in ticket cost.
The German league have the right idea, dirt cheap tickets.

I’m Cutting back on Away games, but mainly as I’ve been everywhere and only have 4 stadiums to complete the league. Limiting myself to 5 aways either side of the new year. As a single dude with no kids & only major commitment being a mortgage, it’s a total doddle compared to the majority out there.

Given that interest rates are being punted around as going up and by a fair old lump then i feel for you but we will all have to make some sacrifices with heating and this could be dangerous for those already not well. I wish all of you the very best and hope that you have the money, without going into debt, to pay the extortionate utility bills maybe it will be time to go to the pub for a few hours and nurse a pint of two rather than stay at home and use your own electricity and gas ? I know the old codgers used to do it, when i was growing up

Had the money for ST and holidays for this year saved as I imagine many will have. Next season might be more telling when renewals come up around April
Cant see myself going to Rovers at all next season. Likewise doubt i will save money for anything else.already limiting what i spend at the ground.

Just before the recent massive rise in energy prices i managed to get a 2 year fixed price for my business premises so not to big an impact yet so will be using the company facilities a bit more than usual. I have a young family to look after so i fear what is yet to come at the Henbury Gas Household

I've just started sticking magnets to the power meter.
All jokes aside hopefully we all pull through this without missing out on to much!

The CoL crisis is why I am gobsmacked that the EFL haven't made iFollow available to away fans only. Obviously would need to be a club member somehow, but come on it can't be beyond the whit of man to sort this, surely?

And the house would be bloody freezing when you crawled home, totally sober.....

Question: the club runs at a loss. What we pay is just a contribution to lessen the loss.
If we reduced the price to £15, given Wael is already £25m down, who pays the extra? Or do we look at costs?
Do we cut player wages?
Get rid of Gorringe?
£5 a week doesn’t affect me. I’d be happy to pay £30 if it helped someone get to go to the game.
Perhaps the best thing we can do, is if we are in the position to help, is to find a friend who’s struggling and take them to the game on you.
If everyone did this, the problem is solved.
Like a lot of these things, we don’t actually do anything. We raise general dissatisfaction with the “system” whilst avoiding the fact we are part of the system.

I am far from the worst off, and I might be a bit pessimistic but all the sh** going on is messing with my head. I can cut back in places to pay the Gas and Electric. a choice between football and the kids swimming lessons. No contest. Goodbye football. I am sure there is waste I can cut out, but when £2k+ is going to be sucked out of your income, there is only so much you can do. I am genuinely astounded how some people seem to carry on as normal (or at at least normal as it looks to me). Seeing the bar heaving, Pints knocked back. Maybe it is people's only release. Maybe I am more conscious than others, maybe others are just whack it on the credit card (loathe the things personally). Maybe some people are just sleep walking into oblivion. I don't know, but the world keeps turning

I don't know, but the world keeps turning I think some people are lucky that the increases haven't really impacted on them yet (maybe youngsters who still live at home, people who are mortgage free etc). I think that the next utility increase will hit a lot harder, and pull more people into the downward spiral - unfortunately.

Maybe I am more conscious than others, maybe others are just whack it on the credit card (loathe the things personally). Maybe some people are just sleep walking into oblivion. I don't know, but the world keeps turning The pinch in incomes is mainly due to the sanctions war over Ukraine. Core inflation is not massive, it’s nearly all energy (although that feeds though everywhere). The quickest win would be for the U.K. and Europe/US to drop sanctions in return for gas. The sovereignty of Ukraine is the reason why you are becoming poorer. You are directly financing the economic war. I suppose we need to decide whether the objective of supporting a fairly periphery ally is worth £300 a month. That aside, your commitment to your family is admirable and it is all about choices. Many of the people sinking pints don’t have kids, or they choose to not pay for swimming lessons and prioritise their own needs. Others may have just lucked out inheriting a business or a house. If this helps, the BOE see inflation peaking at 13% this year, lowering to 8% next year and 2% the year after. Interest rates will probably peak at 3.5% next year. The good news in that, is the BOE have to play mind games with this, and at this present moment, the game is to overstate the pain, so this is the worst it will get. I know you don’t want charity but I’d gladly buy you a couple at the game if you’re struggling…here’s hoping our leaders pull their fingers out and stop this madness.
