Tough tough game today but I do think we’ll at least get a draw…. We played so poorly with everything going wrong Tuesday night and under Barton I’ve never seen us play so poorly twice in a row so am expecting a much better showing…. Head says 1-1 or 2-2, heart says 2-1 or 3-2 to the Gas…..

Tough game today. This is going to be used to get the lads some experience playing in front of a big crowd also damage limitation might be in the plan.
Sam Frost thinks we may go back 3 which I don't think we should do. Back 4 for me.
Could do with big Connor Taylor in this game.
0-2 loss I'm going for. Hope I'm wrong.

I just watched the Danny Cowley pre-match interview and he was bigging up their support the same way JB does. He was also giving us respect for last season, Burton and particularly the Oxford result. The only cringe moment was referencing the “first team from Bristol to get to the Premier League” aspirational quote from JB. Not sure why, but I think that we will get a long overdue result there today. UTG.

My first away game for ages. Looking forward to it. I’m hoping I’ll have to keep quiet amongst the Pompey lot as we put in a better performance than Tuesday. Think we’ll lose 2-0 but JBs teams have recovered well from poor performances this year. Fingers crossed.
UTG!

Interesting line up!! Be interesting to see the bench today Will Grant be available? Lord Marquis will be itching to play. Will get tons of abuse from te Pompey faithful if he does. Certainly enough movement and energy in that line up, will we turn up?? UTG Did Marquis leave them on bad terms?

Will need to play with more energy and I think we will….
Midfield is vital today … Need some grit. Won’t be surprised to see Evans on the bench.

I’d go Belly Hoole Connolly Gibson Gordon Anderson Evans coutts rossiter Finley Collins

Probably 3 goals scored. A controversial penalty. An unfortunate own goal. A wickedly deflected long range shot. Both the upright and crossbar rattled. A combative midfielder lucky not to be dismissed. No more details available for public consumption To be fair, I'd take a 3-0 away win regardless of how the goals were scored. Oh, I see now......😃

Going to be tough game for sure. Just want a reaction from the team after the last game. Get back to passing and moving, keep the ball on the floor

Think it could be another Barnsley I fear. Pompey 2-0 Gas.
Until we get some more quality at the back and some additional options on the bench I don't think we'll be able to compete with he best teams in this division.

Team set up to soak up pressure play on the break, Much will depend on how Saunders and Collins take their limited chances or at least draw fouls in an offensive position. An Evans free kick could be the deciding factor. 0-1 away win
Or Coutts or Finley lose their cool and we are down to 10men after 18mins, Joey loses it and is sent to the stand and we ship 4goals without reply.
I think we win 1 nil. Looking forward to today's atmosphere.

I have a gut feeling that it will be a hard fought game as the manager did say not to turn up for training unless prepared for war. It’s been a long time since we lost 2 on the trot also. I think a score draw or an away win, by one goal and if we get at them, early. I just do not see an L after todays game has ended. UTFG

The last time we met at Fraggle Rock, it was met with our sealed relegation out of this league....and subsequent smilings of some of our players just because they had played under the Cowley's previously with express ignoring of the devastation they had contributed to contrive on thousands of GasHeads watching from afar...
Today, I expect no such expression after impending defeat.
Sorry guys/gals/inbetweeners, I can't see anything other than a battling defeat, as they've recruited shrewdly and have the armoury to hurt us.
Can JAB work out a strategy to hoodwink anything back from the south coast in form of ancient battleship?
We'll see if we can nick a draw or Victory...
Safe travels all. UptheGas!

I wouldn’t be surprised if we win. With JB at the helm we know the Boys will have a right good go at it. 2:0 Rovers. I'm gonna join you with this optimism, maybe even delusion and go 1 more 0-3

Continuity and familiarity is often a good thing ,especially when things have gone well. Partnerships on the pitch create that understanding amongst players.
So ,ideally we would want the same set up as last season. Players knowing much more about the game of the players around them.
The consistencies that can be kept are. Belshaw in goal. Hoole at right back with Anderson ahead of him. Connelly at left centreback. Coutts and finley in the deeper roles with Evans in front. Collins up front.
So bringing Saunders to the left midfield. Gordon to left back. Alfie to right centreback.
Whilst not perfect offers the least changes from last season.Using players that also played in those roles last year if only briefly.
A bench of Jaakkola, Gibson , whelan , Rossiter , Grant ,Loft ,Marquis .
The alternative is a whole new system of 3-5-2
Belshaw ------- Hoole Connelly Gibson ------- Anderson Coutts Evans Finley Gordon ------ Marquis Collins
Bench. Jaakkola, kilgour , grant , rossiter ,whelan ,saunders, loft
Prediction of score today...no idea

Today the attack will click and score goals. But the price will be conceding too. So 3-2 to the Gas.
