The evening that Armstrong broke Kenny Hibbitts leg with an awful challenge. Our season and fortunes seemed to turn on that night for the better. The photo above is from the away fixture from the same season (a 1-1 draw)

Is that the Mark Gavin that played for the Ted's? Yeah, Mark Gavin was a Shy Ted Remember in the 2nd May game he tried to barge Joner, but just bounced of him and fell flat on the floor. Heard a rumour Gavin had a punch up with the Polish skillful midfielder Jacky in Racks which caused City to get rid of him (Jacky) on the cheap?

Yeah, Mark Gavin was a Shy Ted Remember in the 2nd May game he tried to barge Joner, but just bounced of him and fell flat on the floor. Heard a rumour Gavin had a punch up with the Polish skillful midfielder Jacky in Racks which caused City to get rid of him (Jacky) on the cheap? Ha! I remember the Gavin incident, everything seemed to go just right on that day. The Sunderland game sticks in my memory like it was a few months ago, incidents in the game and even walking back to the car past the pub (the Moon?) which was shut. During the game I was stood at the front of the Popular when Armstrong came to take a throw-in (after breaking Kenny's leg). Someone threw a lit cigarette into his hair and I remember thinking it would ignite with all of the hair product he had on. He must have heard it sizzle as he flicked it off in a panic. It's weird I remember such things but can barely remember what I had for tea last night 😀
