The UWE was more than just talk, not sure what the club are supposed to do if Sainsbury's wouldn't play ball, then the UWE wouldn't agree a reasonable deal with the Al-Qadi's. Strange that we appear to be considering leasing a stadium at St Phillips but turned down the chance of owning our own ground on leased land at UWE. The Al Qadi family wouldn’t cough up the £30m needed to build the UWE, so made lame excuses about contractual issues which some fans seem to go along with. Now, a comparable stadium would cost twice that even if a suitable site and planning permission could be obtained. It isn’t going to happen under the club’s current ownership.

Was carsons Rd turned down? Don't remember plans being submitted Hmmm the project bigger each time. So this one will be a 40,000 multipurpose stadium then. 😉 Rejected by Kingswood Borough Council in 1990, just before the Twerton fire, on the grounds it was Green belt.

If it's not built under Wael then I doubt one will ever be built, as it's unlikely we'll get a wealthy owner anytime soon.

You can't take our 100% planning application success record away from us.
