A colleague at work asked me genuinely whey we did not build this one. According to him we were offered the land with parking for nothing by a board member who was a Gashead. I told him I would find out. Discuss.

There was also the Redrow proposal at Pilning c2003 which was thrown out by the environment agency at the first hurdle. Both Rovers and City set up a joint company to investigate this one with the idea of building a joint stadium
Amazon has since been built on this land along with many other industrial units.

Same old same old story we've heard it all before Well of course you’ve heard it before - it was 18 years ago!

I wonder if we gave City their money back.

I'd still rather have a turd like the Mem than Twerton Park which basically was a utter and total embarrassment however what good times we had there..... We had some amazing seasons at the Mem too

Strange that we appear to be considering leasing a stadium at St Phillips but turned down the chance of owning our own ground on leased land at UWE.

Perhaps the FM developers need us more than the UWE? Although we've no idea if the FM is still being considered or not.

We had Carsons Road turned down, a new stand approved at the Mem then a total refurbishment of the Mem, then a brand new stadium at UWE.
We are getting closer each time. Next time will work........?!? 🧐
