In the old days that's what defenders did to our best players.
Now even are own CEO gets hacked.
Is all this technology really making everything safer? The hacker seemed to just try a prank, but in all seriousness, they really could have caused some real trouble.
It makes you think how safe is our data?
The cash is king brigade will have a field day.

It's his twitter account. Not a Rovers account. Something that can happen to anybody who posts on twitter. It would appear by his postings the hacker is a very sad gashead with an axe to grind, who has a grasp of how to hack an account and by the look of his photo if it's him, a drug addict!

It’s a cryptocurrency related hack. Although given the messages about UEFA cups and the winning the champions league, my initial suspicions turned to Lee Johnson.

Tom's account was hacked by someone trying to use his blue tick (verified) account to look like the real Vitalik's twitter account (same display name and photo) to scam people. Vitalik is the co-founder of Ethereum (a popular cryptocurrency) and so followed by lots of crypto enthusiasts. So by pretending to be the real Vitalik using a hacked blue tick account; they can post replies to original Vitalik tweets offering free giveaways via some dodgy link. It happens all the time. One thing that I can't explain though is why the hacker decided to post some tweets from Tom's account pretending to be Tom initially. Some absolute daft posts. Presumably the hacker was just having a bit of fun before they got down to their business of scamming.. but all it did was raise the alarm sooner which would give Tom a better chance of reporting the account breach and getting it locked down and returned. So yeah - very odd behaviour that.

Next time, can they please use a scythe to do the hacking?

The system should have someone who is looking for potential hacks, most companies have such people on their payroll.

You are so far off that it’s hard to read, to generalise and call someone a drug addict is poor Dave, most of the people that do this are loners but of a fairly high iQ.

Not as far as I am concerned haggard looks and drawn cheeks and as for a high iq, that definitely does not rule a person out from being a crackhead. Plenty of examples of that. No respect for anyone doing what he has done, on many occasions according to Bristol live.

Uber were hacked a couple of days back.
If someone gets hold of your password in a data breach, and you have the same password all over the place, then you're vulnerable for this to happen. If you have a blue tick then you're a prime target.
Not a reflection on anyone at the club. More a reflection that it pays not to have the same password used all over the place.
Ideally best to have a memorable albeit secure password to a tool to manage passwords and let that generate passwords on your behalf. And also enable two factor authentication (2FA).
That way if someone gets hold of your password on one site then you're not exposed to risk on all of your accounts.

IT services are the club are probably outsourced in almost entirety. And even so, it'd probably would have happened anyway.

If TG is unaware of the many password management apps or doesn’t use the extremely strong suggested passwords, that apple produce, he really should not be near a computer

No, what happened is i had an account on OTIB and , foolishly, gave that out to all of our forum users. I have not been hacked on a personal level. The nickname password was used, by members of the FFSC for awhile though 😂
