The Brsc I believe wanted to host a football memorabilia and programme fair which was a regular annual event organised by the late ex Rovers CEO Gordon Bennett but room hire has made it prohibitive. During the summer I noticed his programme collection was for sale in a 2nd hand shop. His entire collection was sold at auction by his sister at a Devon auction house a couple of years ago. Some must have been passed on to the charity shop.

I don't think Robert Laurence was a Rovers fan. I believe he was an employee and worked at the Mem several years for the rugby before we moved back to Bristol.
Ian Holtby works elsewhere.
Steve Burns has retired and doesn't live in Bristol but has been to a few games.
Last I heard Trish was ill.
I heard KM was banned or at least made to feel very unpopular.
Roger Brinsford doesn't which I believe is something to do with the fall out of the old guard of support groups. The Blue Diamonds club was excellent and raised a lot of money for various Rovers related causes. May have had a run in with TG or DB?
Heard BSS was ill.
JC loves the club so will support until his last breath.
I have not seen Kim Stuckey at a home game for years. Don't think he lives locally - think he lived in London when he was fans rep, so shows commitment to travel back for games, meetings, social events, sharescheme events etc. He was really good and a big miss I think.
I believe Boycey still attends a lot of games, as does Geoff's wife. Not sure if Ron Craig's wife still attends.

To not welcome former players is shameful. Not everything should be about cost and this should be one of them You do know the Country is in the toilet and everything is about cost right? Yes but that doesn’t fit the narrative does it Bags.

You omit to mention all the facilities at the cricket club are run by seat unique, the very same company that runs hospitality at the Mem. Perhaps the larger venue is more cost effective for the former players association. A little bit more research has revealed that the event is being attended by 32 ex players, our first team squad and backroom staff as well as tables available to all and sundry. I think that confirms that the suite at the Mem is not large enough to host the event. Well there we go. The biggest corporate room at the Mem is underneath the East stand. Think that holds just shy of 200 people if memory serves me correctly.

However while it will mean more people can turn up, with the cost of room hire and the loss of bar takings, it could actually mean less profit.

Looking at the room laid out on the website of where Irenes Kitchen is, that has around about 120 seats laid out, but in a seminar type of setting and not ideal for banqueting. Its been a long time since Ive had matchday hospitality in the East stand but from memory there was around 15 tables of 10 which is obviously 150 people. (someone could correct this) but I dont think I am far off this figure. Even if the Grace room holds 300 people, its nearly double than the East Stand which means there is much greater opportunity for more people to attend, spend money and a greater return on the banqueting.

Come on, I think ill health or current employment possibly on a match day may well be good reasons not to be regular attendees. It doesn’t make them any less a fan. There may be other credible reasons as well. A tad harsh I think. 🤔 UTG!

I guess my point is that people we got used to seeing regularly who had a ‘position’ at the club don’t seem to watch once that position is not held. I just find it strange that’s all no offence meant 👍🏾

The annual Rovers former players association dinner next month is being held at Gloucestershire County cricket club instead of the Mem. But I am told it was because venue is bigger to accommodate more guests and less expensive to hire. That's a big event which Rovers have lost as well as creditability in my opinion. Perhaps a pun there with creditability, as there appears to be a credit crunch and an ability crisis... That's poor, if true. A former players dinner not being hosted at the home of football the club plays out of. Probably, some of them never played at the Mem so they might not recognise it as their home ground. I don't recognise the club either.

To be fair unless you know the exact ins and outs of this you can’t call it shameful, what if it would have lost money/wasn’t cost effective and GCC Club was? To not welcome former players is shameful. Not everything should be about cost and this should be one of them They are being welcomed to an apparently bigger and better venue, but I guess with your negative view on anything Rovers related you choose to ignore that.
