The saga continues. Now facing knee surgery. Will we ever see him again in the Quarters?

Feel for Josh, seems to be a great lad and a talented player. Hope he still has a career ahead of him

Didn't seem to have many injuries before he came here. Even managed 22 games in 5 months for Plymouth, only managed just over double than in more than 2 years here. Obviously its not the lads fault but even Westbrooke has more uses than him at the moment.

Seems to have problem in tendons and ligaments, both knees and hamstrings since he has been with us. Hopefully medics get to the problem and it's not career threatening.

Grant's clearly developed significant problems now so it's not really relevant how fit he was in the past, he's, sadly, turned into another Holmes-Dennis and you do have to fear for his future as a league player. Given it seems unlikely he'll play again this season you do wonder if we need to look to fill his place in the squad with a non contract player.

Really hope that the operation is successful for Josh, and that he can get his career back on track.

Hopefully he’ll get himself sorted and back on track but relying on these kind of players to turn your season around is generally wasted hope. Josh looked just about good enough for league 2 when he was fit last season and that was hardly ever. With the amount of football he’s missed over the last couple of seasons I’d imagine it’s really set his career back. It’s a shame because he’s a player who can play anywhere in defence or midfield to an ok standard without ever really standing out as a top player for us in any position. Another like Rodders who arrived with big hopes but has been here ages and hardly done anything because of injuries.

I feel for the lad and I respect Wael wanting to bring him to the club but he's been hopeless in his entire time here. Purely based on has been evidenced to date, I wouldn't play him ahead of Finley, Coutts or McCormick in midfield, neither would I play him ahead of Gibbons, Hoole, Gordon or Clarke at full back. Another Garner signing that will live long in the memory! UTG

Looking on the positive side least with Grant he has youth on his side he's only 24 and the body heals a lot quicker at that age, so there's still a few years in him if he can recover from it I wouldn't write him off just yet. How ever with Rodman it's a different story personally I think it's time for him to hang his boots up given his age

Can’t help but think this goes back to the fitness side of things that JB spoke about when he first came here.
Trying to get his body to a peak performance is harder when you have injury and you get more injuries along the way.

I remember JB stating that with a reference to his time at Burnley, it does makes you wonder if he's working the players too hard in training.

Inhumane for those not fit enough or unwilling to put the graft in

Inhumane for those not fit enough or unwilling to put the graft in I don't think its about not being fit or unwilling to put the graft in. Muscles Tears,Tendon and ligament damage are worse than a break/fracture I would rather have a break than ligament damage that's talking from experience If your putting excessive stress on these it's only a matter of time before something gives in the body. I tore a ligament in my elbow 10 years ago through repetitive work and it's never been the same since, yet I cracked the socket on my ankle and I recovered from that quickly.

Inhumane for those not fit enough or unwilling to put the graft in Thing is, the days of having a fag at half-time or a quick pint in the bar with the fans before the game starts are now long gone; they’re paid pretty well - whichever division they’re in - to be professional athletes. And as professional athletes it’s their job to keep their bodies running at peak performance levels, which obviously involves training regimes that the rest of us would find difficult if not impossible. And if they think that training for JB is inhuman/inhumane, they might want to try doing 32 weeks basic at Lympstone with the Royal Marines - who get paid a lot less than footballers . . .

looks like Grants opp will mean he is out for the rest of the season. From what i have seen of him he is a hardworking player with some quality, it is reported that the club are going to stick by him, so hopefully he will recover well, get a new contract and be back in the Quarters next season.
