Another part of the game copied from the Premiership which you wish the authorities would have cut out. Collins going down on purpose when it was just as easy to shoot is plain odd. Not saying it's the case, but do you think players are acting under instruction? It's clearly supported by the club's coaches or they wouldn't do it. JCH was the worse, or best(!) at conning refs, so it's not even a recent (JB) development at Rovers.

Not sure many of any of the other squad lads do it, let alone regularly.
The worst I’ve ever seen at Rovers was Jermaine Easter, used to drive me mad. He made the Snakes efforts look academy award worthy!

Given Ben Toner's previous in giving two yellows to Stuart Sinclair (in both of which he was fouled), I suppose we shouldn't be surprised that he gave Coburn and Collins yellows on Saturday.
I've just taken another look at both incidents and my first reaction was that they were both pretty soft dives. However, for Coburn the Cambridge No 4 was running across and behind Coburn and it looks like there is the slightest of touches on Coburns trailing leg. Was it enough to take him down? Possibly, there was nothing theatrical about his fall, which may have meant he was off balance.
Collins was also a bit odd. It looks like he was going down and tried to stay on his feet, but the defender catches him in the thigh as they were running alongside. Penalty? Probably not, but not simulation in my book.
However, I think the message is to understand what the refs are like. Toner doesn't like simulation and will be looking for it. Other refs have a different interpretation.

I understand the concept behind players having to go off if they have treatment but what is the sense when you have an incident like Sat with Hoole. He had a cut, was treated on pitch, then had to go off till let back on. This was when they had a corner and seemed to be a while before he was let back on.

My guess is that if they feel contact they are told to go down Best hope that none of them are silly enough to continue to do that if already on a yellow. I'd rather they all just stayed on their feet when possible, we rarely succeed in conning the ref in or around the box

First half they appealed for a pen when a player went down near the goal line. Waved get up but no booking.

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere but it’s superb work from the club. Does Coburn say “Up the Gas!” to Hoole after he’s scored?

I expect it pretty much the same at every professional club . Part and parcel of the game, Lineker and Shearer say it quite often on MOTD - "He was entitled to go down".

Definitely an upgrade on the previously brilliant “matchday moments” feature. Perfect for those who might miss the match and/or can’t make them for whatever reason.

I can't understand what Coburn was doing, he seemed to just fall over with no Cambridge player anywhere near him! The Collins booking seems a bit harsh, as he was clearly nudged in the back even if it took him a while to fall down. It's not like he was appealing for a pen. Although what a shocking decision Toner made for the Cambridge goal, as why blow for a penalty when they were already in the process of scoring a goal anyway.
