We would probably earn more from a televised game in this round at a non-league ground than winning a game at the Mem and then playing away at the likes of Rotherham or Luton in the 3rd round. I guess ideally we win a televised game turn draw Man U at Old Trafford! I can’t see many second round games if any being on TV with four World Cup games per day over that weekend. I would imagine that BBC/ITV have a contractual obligation to show a certain number of games live for each round.

Looks good on paper, but this is gonna be tricky!! Definitely won’t be easy, they have got some decent players & like someone posted earlier they knocked out Bournemouth away last season. I’m sure if we would have been the away side, the tie would have been a shoe-in for tv coverage as they seem to favour non- league sides to be at home to higher league teams. But if we approach it correctly & field a strong side, we should be able to make it to the 3rd round.

All four games in a calendar month at home. That can't have happened too many times before. Might as well move my bed into the Thatchers End!

Home: W2, D3, L2. Away: W5 D3 L1. We could be on TV if the BBC/ITV do any research at all instead of just fawning over Wrexham

Hopefully Chippenham are picked this time

Forest Green vs Alvechurch seems an obvious one to me. Lowest ranked team left in competition and only 60 miles between the two places.

Its a shame FA Cup games are not on iFollow. I quite like the idea of being sat in the stadium watching France v Denmark whilst watching our game on my phone at the same time!

It will be pretty much impossible to show a 2nd round match that doesn't at least clash with part of a World Cup game though. Likely to be pushed to red button or the likes of ITV4. Highly doubt any second round games will be played on the Friday evening with England playing then.

Chelsea was league cup, I think last time we had a premier side in the FA Cup was Aston Villa in 2012 Sheffield United 3rd Round January last year. Yes, January 2021, lost 3-2 , their first win of that season in the Premier league. No crowd in attendance due to covid rules. Fought back twice after going behind and they got a late winner from memory.

Another half open ground on 26/11 Find something else to do The atmosphere was good against The Dale even though the side were below par. Condensing supporters in fewer areas is likely to be a cost saver in terms of staffing and stewarding. It also enhances the collectiveness of attendees. Personally, I spent the afternoon on the East Terrace for the first time in many years. Not my favourite place. However, it was great when we attacked in the second half. When we kicked towards our favourite end second half it was uplifting. Spaced out supporters in all areas of the ground does not seem wise in terms of generating a supportive ethos. There was still space for a large number of fans in the East Terrace. Possibly 1,000. Tom Gorringe has commented on the reasoning behind the policy decision. I have copied his views below. "First of all, to provide some context, here are the previous first and second round FA Cup attendance at The Mem over the last five years when spectators were allowed in… Sutton 2nd Round - 4th December 2021 - 4,456 Oxford 1st Round - 16th November 2021 - 4918 Plymouth - Second Round - 1st December 2019 - 6215 (1802 away) Bromley - First Round - 10th November 2019 - 3649 Barnet - First Round - 21st November 2018 - 2740 Barrow - Second Round - 4th December 2016 - 4570 Crawley - First Round - 15th November 2016 - 3676 The above works out at an average First round attendance of 3746 and an average Second round attendance of 5,013. Todays attendance was 4679. So firstly, it doesn’t appear that the measures affected the attendance."

Do you think they would show the same team in two successive rounds, then, it is a air while in between the next tie
