Forest Green vs Alvechurch seems an obvious one to me. Lowest ranked team left in competition and only 60 miles between the two places. Showed them in the last round though. Do you think they would show the same team in two successive rounds, then, it is a air while in between the next tie That might go against them, but to not show the lowest ranked team in either the 1st or 2nd round is poor IMHO. Should have obviously had the Cheltenham-Alvechurch game on TV rather than Wrexham-Oldham in 1st round.

On paper a top 2 national league team at home to a struggling national league team is not a highlight of the draw and would never have got chosen in the past.

Another half open ground on 26/11 Find something else to do The atmosphere was good against The Dale even though the side were below par. Condensing supporters in fewer areas is likely to be a cost saver in terms of staffing and stewarding. It also enhances the collectiveness of attendees. Personally, I spent the afternoon on the East Terrace for the first time in many years. Not my favourite place. However, it was great when we attacked in the second half. When we kicked towards our favourite end second half it was uplifting. Spaced out supporters in all areas of the ground does not seem wise in terms of generating a supportive ethos. There was still space for a large number of fans in the East Terrace. Possibly 1,000. Tom Gorringe has commented on the reasoning behind the policy decision. I have copied his views below. "First of all, to provide some context, here are the previous first and second round FA Cup attendance at The Mem over the last five years when spectators were allowed in… Sutton 2nd Round - 4th December 2021 - 4,456 Oxford 1st Round - 16th November 2021 - 4918 Plymouth - Second Round - 1st December 2019 - 6215 (1802 away) Bromley - First Round - 10th November 2019 - 3649 Barnet - First Round - 21st November 2018 - 2740 Barrow - Second Round - 4th December 2016 - 4570 Crawley - First Round - 15th November 2016 - 3676 The above works out at an average First round attendance of 3746 and an average Second round attendance of 5,013. Todays attendance was 4679. So firstly, it doesn’t appear that the measures affected the attendance." I recall a number of those games the ground was only open on 2 sides then, a few times I went in the Bkackthorn, others in East Stand. I am aware of various people who like me didn’t go last week because their favoured West Stand/Enclosure was shut. So how many did it keep away??

I’ve been an East Terrace STH for over a decade now, but do enjoy going back into the Thatchers End for the tinpot trophy and FA Cup games. Bit of different for a change. Can’t see it would keep many away just because their ‘usual place’ isn’t available. But that’s just me.

As a STH in the West Stand I didn’t go. I was annoyed that once again I couldn’t buy my own seat. As an Over65 I pay extra over the East Stand yet get less favourable treatment? I wasn’t around on the Thursday set aside as ‘preferential’ for West Stand STHs so gave it a miss. I know the person I sit next to did the same as his knees make the East Stand stairs a problem. The treatment of our Disabled Fans is a disgrace now. Prices raised and access poorer if anything. Several others around us were saying they probably wouldn’t bother but I don’t know for sure.
The attendance figures seem to me to be self fulfilling - if you don’t allow people in where they’d like to be they won’t come. I’ve been to several games in the East Stand previously but don’t really like it and even the long range forecast said it wasn’t going to be a nice place to be.

I didn't go because I can't manage all those steps up to the East Stand. The ticket announcement didn't include information on arrangements for ambulant disabled fans. Disability is the poor relation of the "vulnerable" groups, it's not trendy enough.

Would be typical to see them drawn with someone like Man City now

Judging by our aging crowd base it's soon going to be real problem. If only the club could have seen this coming five years ago

Would be typical to see them drawn with someone like Man City now That would be ideal. The best way for players to realise the opportunity they have lost . So next time they focus and take games more seriously from the start to give them the drive to win.

Have a feeling as it’s the cup City have to give them a bigger allocation. The police might want to intervene in that though. Not sure

Poor draw for the wood, but a game they can definitely win. If we'd got the same draw then we would have also had a great chance of making the 4th round, plus picking up a decent win bonus.
