WHO WILL WIN?
The history books suggest there is a clear favourite.
Some 800+ visitors to Hillsborough will be hoping that a new history is created.
Sheffield Wednesday have played against The Gas just 13 times in the last 116 years.
Bristol Rovers have Won 2 of those games and Drawn 4.
The results at Hillsborough are not easy reading.
Jan 1906 - THE OWLS 1 v 0 THE GAS in the FA Cup
Dec 1955 - THE OWLS 4 v 2 THE GAS in League 2
Sep 1958 - THE OWLS 3 v 1 THE GAS in League 2
Aug 1974 - THE OWLS 1 v 1 THE GAS in League 2
Dec 1980 - THE OWLS 4 v 1 THE GAS in League 2
Mar 1991 - THE OWLS 2 v 1 THE GAS in League 2
Dec 2010 - THE OWLS 6 v 2 THE GAS in League 1
The results in the fixtures held in Bristol and Bath have been slightly better but not brilliant.
Both teams are in good form and The Owls are an effective home side with some exceptional players.
Their two home defeats this season have been against teams beginning with B.
A hat-trick of defeats against teams starting with B on Wednesday would be welcome.

I share Joey Barton's feeling of the place. It makes me feel queasy.

Looked on their forum - not a lot of meaningful mentions other than taking the water out our name and believing they will win the next 4 games. I’m hoping the 2nd half performance v Plymouth will be taken into this game and we pinch a very creditable draw COYB

One thing I've noticed this season is that the smaller the club we play, the more deluded the forum base. So far Ipswich, Portsmouth and Wed are the three that seem to be concerned by us.

Some on their forum are expecting a harder game than others, if we could get a lead we are getting better at game management 😃.
Let's be fair our front 3 are on fire, Scouse Krays will boss the midfield, and our defence is more robust.
A sneaky 2 0 win UTG.

After Saturday I'm convinced we have no one to fear in this division. Doesn't mean we'll rock up at Hillsborough and win, but we shouldn't be afraid or pay them too much respect.
They should fear the best forward in the third tier though!!

Got to go there thinking that and not about where these clubs have been historically compared to us. We’re neck and neck with these clubs - there should be no favourites.

There are no favourites, go in to this one confident and firing and we can get at least a point. UTG

Just hope we dont give them too much respect like we did at Ipswich as they have the players to punish us

It's such a shame that Coutts has injured himself. Finley is on 4 cautions and one more before 19 games are complete will see him get a one match ban. Bobby Thomas is also on 4. If we lose one or both of them for a game (Thomas might get a two match ban as he has already served a ban?) it will stretch our resources. I suppose Whelan is Finley's replacement, hope Connolly's not far away too...

UTG Those last 6 games for Sheff Weds must include cup games as they seem to be winning virtually every home game, the only games they haven't won this season are in a draws with Ipswich & Pompey and a loss to Barnsley. Just hope we don't concede the first goal, as it'll be an uphill battle if we do.

Well - if they both get through tomorrow night, and can do the same on Saturday, then they would only have two more games to get through before the cut off. It's a difficult one as they mustn't back off too much so as to affect their game.

Hopefully one or both can avoid cards tomorrow given that the Derby game looks very winnable. The final game of this suspension window is v Peterborough!
