I had a lot of respect for Harold always gave his all, which I could ask no lore for, Richards also, a good skilful player who came through the youth. You may well do. But can you really compare those four with a team which contained Roberts and Cureton? I had the privilege of sitting next to Harold Jarman the other night at a Rovers related dinner, just reminded me that he and Alfie Biggs would have watered on the four quoted. Attachment Deleted

Agreed, but all Harold seemed to do was concede free kicks, mistime jumps for headers and score penalties. To be fair to him, he was a neat and tidy player on the deck. And he scored that screamer at Pompey in April 2014 to give us hope! UTG! One was a diving header & the other a massive deflection that just about evaded the keeper. Did score a few decent goals though did ‘arrold! Not in the same convo as our strikeforce 1996-2000 mind🔥

No I’m not comparing at all, just think Harold got a lot of stick, as someone else commented he scored penalties, there is lots of players who can’t. Jason Roberts in full flow was a delight to watch.

AH, oh for the good old days on the forum when everyone could moan about the lack of a striker!

Bannister and Warboys (back to my yoof) ?
Agreed this crop, although rammed with potential may not get close to Cureton et al.
Have we forgotten Marcus Stuart and Gareth Taylor as well?

The point is we have 5 good strikers, and whilst we have had better 2's and 3's, very rare to have such strength in depth. Good work JB!

In short we've had a wealth of strike partners over the years, a real wealth of talent
I will even include Twatty Traitor in there for completion.

Great names mentioned already, my particular favourite is Gary Penrice, and Boris chipping in with 50 goals was not too shabby either.

Just love our front line chasing down the opponents defence, including keeper, all game. Makes a difference to when Ellis used to just trot about.

Right , I’m going to stick my neck out and predict goals scored by each this season …. Collins 24 Coburn. 16 Loft. 11 Sinclair. 3 Marquis. 7 Collins 25 Coburn 24 👀(assuming Boro don’t recall) Loft 12 Sinclair 7 (if he stays full season) Marquis 8 This is in all comps btw

Randall, Stephens, White, Barrett
If Randall in his prime was playing last season he would have got 30 goals at least.
Then again a striker needs service, so if Paul Tait played last season with assists from Anderson and Evans, he would have still got 20.

2014-2015,
Adam Cunnington, Nathan Blisset, Jamie White, Alex Wall & Bradley Goldberg. There’s depth there but not sure it can be described as strength!
Luckily we had Taylor and Harrison as back up.
