With this lad in the away end at Sheffield Wednesday in midweek and the fact he is now playing back for Stoke City's U21's do anyone think Wednesdays appearance in the stands is a (come sign me in January please Joey) or nothing to see here? Imo I think he's after a move back to us and I hope it turns out to be true.

There change of Manager has dropped him out of the match day squad. Feel sorry for the lad and for obvious reasons would be welcomed back at the Mem.

Thomas and Gibson have been good together and Connelly has shown he aint nobodies fool. Taylor is a great player but dont need him back on loan. Perm signing or perhaps a season long loan next year.

The thing with Taylor is he stays fit and as for Gibson and Gibbons they are injury prone so for me I would take Taylor back in a heart beat! Connolly was ever present last season and has been unfortunate with his early season injury but a back 3 of Connolly, Taylor and Thomas is a great defence to build from at league one level.

Yeah agreed . Thomas & Gibson have been good and we don’t need another loan signing at centre back . Connolly looked assured when he came on today . If he was available for a permanent transfer I’d say do it ( if we could afford him) but not as a loan this time .

Probably need more quality in full back positions before another CB.

It’s a difficult one because we currently have Thomas, Gibson and Connolly all of whom are good options in the middle. However we have also seen Hoole, Kilgour and even Whelan play there this season, all of which I’d like to avoid happening again.
I’d also agree our full back options aren’t as strong.
It would be nice to get a permanent signing for Taylor as being so reliant on loans in a key position isn’t ideal and Connolly and Taylor both as our players would be a really strong sign for the future.

Gibson is a loan with a history of injury. Like him but if he’s not reliable I’d love Taylor back. BUT he’s not left footed. Need one of them!

Big shame for the lad. Another season with us in div 1 would have benefited both parties.

Unless I dreamt it then surely Connolly was signed on a permanent deal in summer, not sure how we got him as he looks like he could potentially play in the Championship. As far as Taylor, assuming the player and club would let him return it's a good one for JB to consider in January, those he stick with Thomas, he had a shocker today after two sound performances, or send him back and bring in Taylor. Perhaps the new Stoke manager might not rate Taylor as highly as the last one and could accept an offer in January, as I can't ever recall an ex loan player turning up to watch us play in the past.

Looking in the longer term Taylor as a permanent signing and Kilgour going out on loan would be a fantastic move. It would be a fantastic selection problem to have if Gibson, Thomas, Connelly and Taylor were all fit. Come January we really need to strengthen the left back position and from a squad point of view would also try to loan Saunders out and get a better player in.IMO Gibbons just had an off game today and is worth persevering with.

I’d only take Taylor on loan in January if any of the current CB’s were injured. However, if Stoke gave any indication he was available on a permanent transfer for a reasonable fee I’d snap him up like a shot

For me Connor epitomized what we are all about at Rovers, I would be over the moon to have him back in any capacity signed on a 3 year deal would be sound!

However, if Stoke gave any indication he was available on a permanent transfer for a reasonable fee I’d snap him up like a shot Why? If Taylor's going to be a better player then why not send one of the loan players back, or bench him, if we're still getting regular thrashings, JB's job is to do the best for Rovers not keep loan players and their parent clubs happy. Plus if Taylor's here for another 6 enjoyable months he might try and push though a transfer. We've had a reasonable week results wise but still conceded 7 goals in 3 games.

I would definitely have him back If Gibson can't stay fit between now and January
