Wow, you seriously think Wan-Bissaka is better than him? We might as well as end the discussion here! As for Trips, He's always been a good player at Burnley, Spurs and now Atletico, not just at the last world Cup. Feel free to. Wan-Bassaka is 7 years younger, had 2 full seasons and Man Utd and done really well. You’re now referencing Trippiers success in the Championship with Burnley and as bench warmer for Spurs as a reason for being better than Man Utd’s first team RB? Trippier was an average at best RB until the WC where he excelled unexpectedly. Since then, he failed to make it yet again at the top level in the PL because he can’t handle the speed in which attackers close him down. It’s no surprise he’s done well in a less high paced division. Where I will agree though is that I’m sure he’s learnt a lot over the past year from Athletico, but even if they are defensive - they’re only really playing defensive against Barca/Madrid, the teams outside the bottom 6 really drop off in standards. Gassy with the world Cup coming up and Newcastle being in great form with Trippier as captain, who would you choose now out of him and Wan-Bissaka?

Am I the only one who clicked on this thinking it was a new thread about the World Cup and realised GGMI has resurrected yet another old thread. I think a new thread would be more appropriate?

Thankfully there is proper football on during this World Cup, I won’t be watching a second of it. The corruption stinks.

I have no interest in Internationals. I just can’t stand that nausea the mass media try to force down your throats about it.

I’m sure they both agreed at the time, rats and sinking ships spring to mind now, the whole thing is a farce.

Don’t think there is the interest this time for a World Cup. Too much controversy and the political stuff, although not to do with football, will have an effect. The world has moved on since it was awarded to Qatar 12 years ago, in the opposite direction to the direction of Qatar. And of course we watch it in the Summer because we have no other football but I think many middle-of-the -road perhaps-I’ll-watch fans will have only a passing interest in it. They will watch their normal football. I’m usually looking forward to it but not this time, and of course I’ll be able to see more of us.👍
And I know most wont worry about the Qatar views but that interview yesterday that was stopped because of what an “ambassador” was saying will have damaged the brand even more.
UTG!

Do World Cup host nations actually make a profit from the tournament?
The cost of all those new stadiums and infrastructure must have cost a fortune. I know they can afford it, but I wonder how they'll get their money back or some equivalent value.
The TV money will go to Qatar in part, although FIFA and the national associations will take a big cut.
Is it indirect benefits like tourism, business deals and opening the doors to football money in future?

I doubt any World Cup hosts actually make any profits from the tournament after everything they spend on it. In the case of Qatar, you could see some future indirect benefits in the way of tourism or other business. I doubt Russia had many indirect benefits.

It's a shame you have dick heads like that ambassador who said that gay people are sick in the mind who will f**k it all up for them.
