Isn't 8 to 12 weeks a "few weeks" if it's the lower end it'll be late Jan/early Feb, so just when the a new signing would join us, the higher end a month or so after he's joined. If JB doesn't trust Coutts & Whelan as back up then he was probably always going to look to sign another CM anyway, perhaps a lot depends on whether he can finally get Westbrook off the wage bill, or at least a proportion of his wages. No , a few weeks is 2-3 weeks.

That’s a new one for me, a “few” meaning 8-12. I’d always thought it was about three but glad to have been educated !!

Andrey Santos is a 18 year old Brazilian midfielder at Chelsea … they are keen to give him game time preferably in UK conditions.
I wonder if he might be on our radar ?

Strange window coming up. We don't really have a standout position that we're desperate to fill, probably for the first time in quite some time.
Think I might just enjoy this window and go along for the ride

Think I might just enjoy this window and go along for the ride I think you are right, we look ok However, if we are to play a 3-5-2 I do feel we need to strengthen in the wing back areas My priority would be a strong powerful experienced left wing back This team is decent Belly Thomas Beefy Gibson Gibbons/Sinclair Finley Rossiter Evans NEW Collins Coburn That still leaves Anderson, Loft, McCormick, Marquis, Hoole, Flash and Coutts to battle for positions We might need to add CM to the list, but as long as we stay relatively injury free and don’t sell in January we should be good enough to fight for too 10 UTG

Just a battling CM for me with Rossiter out. I always worry we won’t winwithout Finley in the side. I would love someone to put up our record with and without him in the team.

We certainly seem better placed than previous windows. Probably a left back going by others and then cover, especially in midfield.
As a bonus, if there is scope, someone in the Elliot Anderson mould.

Precious few rumours about for us or others in the division. Anyone? Reported that St. Mirren have accepted bids of £350,000 for 21-year-old midfielder Ethan Erhahon ahead of next month. It is not confirmed who the offers have come from, but Portsmouth and Forest Green Rovers are said to be keen.

UTG Another central midfielder, an upgrade at left back if possible and maybe another creative option. Edit: could probably do with another centre half option too.

We need a LB/LWB as competition for Gordon, Trevor Clarke just isnt good enough IMO.
We need another DCM as a replacement for Coutts who probably will be gone at the end of the season and a centre half who can add competition but intergrate ready for next season. These are the key positions for me as a long term look at the squad.

Any number of these to go on loan to gain experience, match time or new clubs.(if fit enough)
Rodman,westbrooke,kilgour,hoole,gordon,McCormick, saunders, clarke.
Attempt to perm sign current loan players Coburn ,Gibson ,Thomas.
Bring in cover/competition for Coutts,Finley,Rossiter,Evans, Sinclair ,right back,left back,central defence...so 8 players.
Unlikely to happen.
3 most likely to arrive ,various types of midfield player no doubt.
