Not the best draw. A long way and a small crowd but definitely winnable.
Not sure of the prize money in this round but believe it is better than £10k, plus possible game time for a few of the squad members : Kilgour, Jakkola, Saunders, Lawrence etc

🤞 Everton v Man U in the final if it’s “regional” up to semi’s otherwise Everton v any u21/u23 (any1 know or care) in the final. The dream final. They’ll have to give tickets away then.

For the SIX seasons Conference sides were in the competition, starting in 2000-2001, no Non League teams reached the final.
For the last SIX seasons in which Under 21/23 sides from the Premiership/Top Championship have entered none of them have reached the final.
This is a welcome and unexpected outcome.
If ever a final was held featuring TWO poorly supported Under 21/23 sides the competition dies.

So i assume Posh and Mansfield will actually be at home despite being drawn away. What do they do about the MUFCU21 V WWFCU21 game ? It should be enforced they play at old trafford.

Not a clue, but considering the women’s teams play there with large crowds and seeing it on the telly and comparing it to our tip, would have thought its not a problem. Man Utd’s under 19’s play there as well as a professional rugby league club and is a stadium being used for the rugby league World Cup this year.

(I know you are not defending u21 clubs ,just adding to the conversation) It might be the case that Manchester united have registered old trafford as the mens football home stadium . Therefore in a competition involving first teams they would have to use old trafford. This is probably why the competition (at least in group stages) has under 21 teams playing all games away from home. After all ,if Rovers are forced to play at the Mem in front of a thousand fans and most of the ground closed . Why shouldnt Man utd u21. If they get to choose a smaller venue it should then be open for Rovers to choose a smaller venue...Mangotsfield united stadium for example. If they do not play at old trafford then they are not Manchester united .

We knew it was going to be an away tie so playing the bottom team in L2 is about as good as it gets imo.

In the south you have lge one teams fgr & cheltenham , ipswich & pompey ,Plymouth and Charlton playing each other. Going to be tough if we get through though. With maybe Plymouth,Ipswich and Peterborough as possible opponents.
