Was looking forward to this game, a few beers before and a 1-0 win. Then rail strikes, tube strikes force us to revert to driving. Now waiting to find out if it is even on. Not sure the omens are looking positive. Anyone know what time the pitch inspection is?

You would think with the millions wasted on players wages every year, that every club could have installed under soil heating and saved all this on/off bollocks

There is a cost of living crisis they should have decided this yesterday or at 8am.

Yes but surely 95% of the time it's the pitch, most other places can be gritted etc.

A pitch inspection will take place at 10am on Saturday morning ahead of the club’s Sky Bet League One fixture against Bristol Rovers.
The Valley’s playing surface was inspected by an FA referee at 4.30pm on Friday afternoon. The referee decided that the game should go ahead as planned, on the condition that there was a morning pitch inspection to evaluate the impact the overnight conditions had on the pitch.
The club will update supporters with the result of Saturday morning’s inspection once it has taken place.

Just because the picture shows no covers doesn’t mean it wasn’t covered.
I mean for starters surely they need to take them mostly off to inspect it properly?

Inspection taking a while? Going for the world record for a pitch inspection?

No news anywhere. An update would be useful even if the decision has been postponed. I live in London so not too much of a problem for me...but not good for those coming from Bristol.

4 hours to kick off and they haven’t announced a decision yet. Not good enough. If the inspection was going to take an hour then it should have been done at 9am not 10am

This afternoon’s Sky Bet League One fixture against Bristol Rovers is set to go ahead with a further, precautionary pitch inspection is set to take place at 12.30pm.
The club asked for an FA referee to inspect the pitch at The Valley on Friday afternoon. The referee decided that the game should go ahead as planned, on the condition that there was a morning pitch inspection to evaluate the impact the overnight conditions had on the pitch.
That second pitch inspection took place on Saturday morning at 10am with today’s referee Sam Allison. Allison was satisfied that more than half the pitch is playable already and was confident that the work of the club's staff and improving weather will have a positive impact on the remaining areas of the pitch, which he will review again, as a precaution, at 12.30pm
The club will keep supporters updated with progress.

Just read on Facebook another inspection at 12:30. The geezer seems pretty genuine says he’s just had a phone call.
