Just got back...
From watching it on wireless with pictures.
Why do we start like we're still in bed and finish or play second half completely opposite?
How frustrating? (To win and play well, climb the table).
Evans looked atrocious first half by inane passes, many others did too... Second half he was winning his battles, playing further up pitch and looked an important key to unlocking Charlton.
Belly kept us in it with our ball watching, statue zombie walking dead defence... Second half he was a mere pedestrian until injury time.
Inspired sub, marquis proved to be the key by picking the BG -esque defending pocket twice ... A lovely header through ball for second, only matched by the robbing of their defender, capped a great homework and executed plan and fine finishing....well done JM and JAB for orchestrating a smash and grab win (as we surely should have been 3 down at half time) and send us into a very happy Xmas with c*ty82 losing too!
Merry Christmas, Gas..

Zoom in on Azza and Evans. Two bigger gasheads you couldn’t hope to see. Means so much to two young lads from Liverpool and Wales

Nothing about us on one turd for seven hours, must be a record, maybe they are coming for us? I do hope so 😄😄😄😄 Annoyingly at the moment they just seem to do enough to keep clear of the bottom 3, as at Rotherham, lose the next one and they will really be in trouble , it does not sound as if they are up for the fight. Shame! 🤣

This is it lads. A classic result - grinding out 3 pts away from home on a crappy afternoon. Play-offs look good.
And from there - who knows. This is a squad who can do the business.

Just seen the crowd was about 12150 or so. With 1139 rovers fans, that means 11000 cafc fans. It really didn't seem like that.
Ground was good, could have a pompey type atmosphere if full, but it seemed really empty in their end.

We need to keep the Mem atmosphere but a proper ground. Difficult balance.

There was never over 12000 at the Valley today, I reckon a couple of thousand of their season ticket holders didn’t attend but are counted in the published attendance. Impressive stadium, but that non-stop drumming would do my head in if I was a home fan & had to put up with that every game.

🎶 Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way.... Oh what fun it is to sing when the Rovers win away..🎵
Disappointed we didn't get much credit (again!?) on the Football League show, more down to Charlton being bad, apparently.

We didn't get any credit on there last season, so wouldn't expect any this time around. Mostly their attention is on any club one of the pundits ever turned out for.

Great result to finally end that Valley hoodoo.
It was certainly the change in formation that made the difference. The team worked hard on a tricky surface. The pitch played a big part in the game ,the away end of the pitch being noticeably firmer. In both halves it gave attacking players an advantage.
Marquis' goals were well taken, good to see him scoring .
Its a worry about Rossiter being out till spring maybe. I hope they have been busy looking for a replacement to come in January.
On the subject of the team continuing to do well and somehow get promoted . This will at least create a situation where the club will HAVE to tell the EFL/FA what their plans are as to all seater at the mem or new stadium. Silence wont cut the mustard i suspect.

Just had a quick scan through Charltons forum, I'm reading the same things I read here after Garner was sacked, worst Charlton team ever, that sort of thing. So glad we got through it

Getting excited that he might persuade Toon to let Elliot come back for the run in. (Yes now I am drinking) It's not out of the question. At the start of the PL season he was making a few cameos off the bench for Newcastle. He hasn't been getting a look in now their form has seen them to the top 4. Newcastle will surely spend in January and he'll be pushed even further down the pecking order. He's good enough for The Championship but he probably was last season too and he came here. He picked up an injury. Returned on 6/11 and got minutes, also minutes on 9/11, missed Chelsea on the 12th and then football broke up for the WC

Again another brilliant demonstration of match management yesterday by Joey, initially going to a back 4 and bringing Hoole on to shore up the right back position, secondly taking Macker off and playing Johnny Marquis through the middle with Josh and Azza either side, which caused their defence to pannick and make mistakes which were duly clinically punished by super Johnny M. Its great going to the away games were you can feel and hear the support is largely right behind "super Joey Barton".
