Please excuse the unusual question.
In 1984, I saw Bristol Rovers play Ipswich Town in a reserve game I noted the venue as Hambrook Training Ground, the result was 2-2 and the match was played on 21 December 1984
My question is, exactly where was this ground? My memory suggests it was close to the M32/A4174 junction and my best guess would be the current site of the Hambrook Golf Centre.
A friend says he saw your U-18 team play in 2019 at a ground immediately south of the current UWE Hillside pitches. That of course was 35 years after my visit, so these can be different grounds. Google Earth gives no clues, with no historic pitches shown. The marker on the futbology app could well be slightly off (and it may have been me that placed it there).
Thanks for any help

It's now the golf driving range, basically it's the piece of land between the M32, the hotel, and the A38.

You are correct, the golf centre is our old training ground. Sold it for about 250k around the same year I think.

They used to be played on a Wednesday afternoon and I went to quite a lot . Then as I recall we moved to Keynsham Town fc for combination games. Then more recently Yate Town. It was a good opportunity to see injuries players return to the fold.
However : I can't find any reports on our 2nd team ( please supply links ) and I don't know were the ground is . I believe its near the old Hambrook ground.

In honour of Rovers the crazy golf is pirate themed, interestingly a mix of pirate and skull and crossbones. Perhaps inspiring the recent ideas of a rebrand?! 🤔

As a young Referee I actually ran the line at the training ground in both the Football Combination and also youth games on a Sunday morning. I remember one game on a Cold January morning Rovers were playing Coventry City and they had the famous chocolate Brown away strip. They also had a young centre forward Mark Hateley.
I was so cold that Rovers gave us some old tracksuit tops which were Black to put on to keep us warm.
I also ran the line Bristol Rovers Res v Chelsea Res and Chelsea had the likes of Micky Droy, Alan Hudson playing for them. As a mere youngster the combination games were really good with lots of star names in the First Division reserve teams. Also did Rovers v Swansea when Swansea were in the first division and Bob Latchford played.
Every time I drive by the golf driving range it brings back memories.
